Very solid series with well made characters, drama, humor and creative action. Although the author's next work, Saike is better.

My opinion is that it's a shitty low-effort OP.

but i liked it and wanted to talk about it

I watched five or six episodes back when it was airing and thought it was pretty unique.
2005 was a busy year though. I also think the subs were slow as fuck so I dropped it, along with Beet, for other shows and never got back around to finishing it.

It was okay kinda rush at the end. I liked it alot when it was airing even order all volume of the manga

All manga of this author have unique power systems, I like it.

Parasyte did it better.

The show tries too hard to present that MC as an underdog saying his power is weak.

It was a great shonen series that deserved more attention than it got.

Only read it for the glasses girl, was not disappointed.

Damn this artstyle reminds me of Midori Days

It was one of the most popular anime in Southeast Asia.

As a kid, I love this one. I remember doing "The Law of Ueki battle" in Facebook group around 2009-2010.

Fukuchi Tsubasa-sensei still one of my fav mangaka. I have all of his work, from The Law of Ueki, The Law of Ueki Plus, Takkoku, Anagle Mole, Saike Mata Shitemo.

It was great. The fights and the characters were pretty fun to watch.

Rinko best girl

I didn't like his power-up desu

Loved it. As the other user said, unique power system the series had going.

This was running in Shonen Sunday at the same as other tournament series like Gash/Yakitate Japan/MAR/etc... Ueki was always gonna be under the radar to most people.

I miss the times when Sunday manga still got regularly get adaptations though. But these days, apart from Jump, it's just copy and paste isekai.

Yeah was literally 15 years ago. Also, the last time that Sunday could stand somewhat toe to toe with Jump before the gap widened.

Great 1st half, goes to shit when everyone's a half god using the god tools

For a show that had a fight every episode it is appaling that only 2 of them were worth anything. The first villain was better than the second, and Ueki being half-everything puts Bleach to shame.
It is shameless about being cliche, and the main cast isn't worth a damn. The villains were way more interesting like Robert and the crew that grew up in the war-torn countryside.
It's also a shame that the girls were fuggin cute but it was PG rated so no fanservice
The intros were absolutely awesome though, those alone tipped the scales to make it kinda worth watching

And with all that it still managed to be better than MAR

Oh, and Ueki at the end realizing he could "recycle" with his power was some great payoff, I'll admit.

What do Zig Forums think about his newest work?
>Ponkotsu-chan Kenshouchuu

It's a fun Doraemon kind of story but with a cute girl instead. Not as good as his previous series but Fukuchi said that after making something as serious as Saike, he wanted to relax with a simpler work.

I watched dubbed Ueki on Animax 10 years ago but never search about the author after so I'm surprised he's still active and has been making different titles
I hope he will get his new works animated some day.

Pretty fun shounen with great fights.
Also I actually like the Celestial Weapons. It has a set number since the beginning and most of them have simple utility, so they don't feel that overpowered. Two of them aren't even usable until the final fight.
Also the fourth one looks cool.

>series based around incredibly weird, impractical or "weak" powers
why is this so overlooked despite the potential?
especially for the MC

It was published in Sunday after the Big 3 began their reign, causing Jump to dominate and the otaku community neglects shounen published in other magazines.

Between all his series I would place ueki as second below Saike. Saike had a pretty unique MC that was legit batshit insane.

Literally one of my first anime watched also the manga only sequel was garbage.

most artists are hack writers that can only copy paste what we usually see in vidya, and modern readers mostly care about the art instead
