It's a little complicated.
Luffy got his ass kicked by vice admirals Momonga and Dalmatian, but he was so exhausted by the time he encountered them that he couldn't even successfully activate Gear 2.
If anything, their performance was underwhelming considering how much effort they put into attacking Luffy in his weakened state. They didn't even KO him.

Might be a bit too overpowered, though he's already done weird shit like the toy fruit, and fucking bird cage.

To be fair Caribou's had nothing of consequence in 27 chapters besides revealing his brother was still alive (Like Pound) and him jumping around accomplishing not much of anything and that thing dragged on past 40 until Drake showed up to eventually tie him back into the main plot

it would be preferable if it wasn't something like an improved pacifista or a robo-dragon or gigantified humans, because these are all something we can easily imagine. i would rather the SSG project be something entirely unexpected but still mass-produceable and very strong.

Are we ever going to get an awesome sniper fight with Usopp? Like, Usopp and some overpowered opponent both fighting from a distance, and Usopp using tactics to win? The closest we've gotten to this is Usopp vs. Chu and that lasted for all of 5 seconds. I guess Usopp vs Luffy was close to this, and look how great that was.
