Why didn't Aizen use his shikai against Ichigo? Yes...

Why didn't Aizen use his shikai against Ichigo? Yes, I know that he thought he was too powerful for it and his hubris but it just seems like a massive oversight to not hypnotize Ichigo just in case.

>Why didn't Aizen use his shikai against Ichigo?
Because then Ichigo would've lost.

Because that power is broken. The worst of it is that even if you don't see the activation (it's only weakness), Kubo could just say the character saw it but Aizen made him feel like he didn't see it.

Aizen would have to activate it, and ichigo could then not look

>Why didn't Aizen use his shikai against Ichigo?
He wanted to beat ichigo at his best. He literally had him go through Grimmjow and Ulquiorra to evolve his powers.

True fact: Aizen used the shikai, everything that happened after was an illusion. This explains why the story is full of asspulls without foreshadowing.

>nigh omnipotent shikai, can fool even best of the best unless they squint really, really hard (something you can't really afford to do during intense fight)
>but also super high spiritual power level or whatever the term Kubo used, can and did beat almost every character with raw power alone anyway
>also super smart with shitton of keikaku up his sleeve
What was Kubo thinking with this character? It's like he wanted to have a cake and eat it too.

>Ichigo look at my sword so I can put you under hypnosis
>No *closes eyes*

Based

Who says he didn't?

lmao

Aizen bankai still wasn't revealed to this day, right?

>Hey Ichigo, have you seen my sword [Kyouka Suigetsu]? It's a really nice sword, you should look at it.
Or
>If you look at my sword you'll be hypnotised! Fight without looking at it.

Maybe you forgot but his shikai did not fully work on Unohana since her Reiatsu level was so high. That'S why she found out so quickly that his dead body was a fake and that's why he used some special item to dodge fighting her. Also one of the reasons why she never fought Aizen.

Ichigo's power level was too high

Aizen's Shikai was so OP I can't help but think his bankai would probably be stronger than whatever the hogyoku did for him was.
Hell, he trashed 99% of the captains with just raw power alone.
They couldn't even beat Ywach without his shikai.

Aizen should have died. The worst part of the final arc was bringing aizen back stronger than when he had the hyogoku. Seriously wtf, it would be like Starlin bringing back base thanos and saying he was stronger than when he had the cosmic cube. For me it invalidated all the hueco mundo and fkt arcs if he could just get stronger meditating while sealed in his chair.

ITs been a while but isnt it because he merged with his sword? Same with ichigo. There was no shikai or bankai because they were all one and the same for them both at that moment. Also Aizen relied on that hyogkyo-whatever-you-spell-it for power.

*STAB*

Can't really fight effectively with your eyes closed, now can you?

That's not really viable in an actual fight though. Even Yamamoto had to rely on Aizen actually stabbing him and then holding him like that to kill him.
Unohana's good, but if Aizen was serious he could just cut her neck easily.

Aizen's contradictory desires made the Hogyoku work against him. He wanted to 'become perfect' but he also didn't want to be so infinitely distant from everyone else like he knew the Soul King to be. He was also proud of creating Ichigo who could easily rival him. His true desire was for Ichigo to surpass him and to fail at becoming the soul king.

Ironically, he became the soul king in the end.

And yet Yamamoto had to tank KS with his stomach to get around its effect.

Being imprisoned with lots of time to think let him become an actual person instead of a machine with no real identity to achieve a perfection he didn't even really want. Thousand year blood war Aizen doesn't have anything to prove. He's a craftsman who has created his best work already but has only now appreciated having done so.

he won their fight though if it wasn't for urahara hacks

I feel like if Uraharawould of used his bankai he could of stopped Aizen there

Urahara bankai would have done absolutely nothing against Aizen.

He very well could have been trying to. Because Ichigo had such a high spiritual power at that point it wouldn't have worked. In Bleach you can literally just ignore shit if you're far enough ahead of someone.
Aizen flat out mocks Soi-fon for trying to use her 2 hit kill on him, laughing at her that that shit won't work on him even if he let her land both hits.

Well, that's actually a good point. If hueco mundo was more about ichigo realizing his potential than aizen building an army and merging with the hyogoku to take on the soul king it really doesn't feel like those arcs lacked purpose.

yeah but at the end of the series he says that ichigo never saw his release

>year of our lord 2020
>still talking about bleach

That's the crux of it. Can't end the MC.

Is Kyouka Suigetsu even real? LMAO just close your eyes Shinigami!

By the time Aizen realized that Ichigo is stronger than him, Ichigo had already touched Aizen sword which negated kyoka suigetsu's effect on Ichigo.
