The fundamental lack of self awareness, the furry holocaust, antagonist being same antagonist than the one from promare, except even cringier, constant unapologetic awooooing, that fucking speech of main character about being able to look how she wants in a world where there are definitely are gorilla woman beastmen, making the antagonist remark about her arms nonsense. What was it trying to be even? Second half of the show made me retroactively like less everything that trigger done before, why was it this bad?
Why is BNA so horrible?
I can't comment on the ending because I'm only on episode 5 but it just feels ordinary nothing that really stands out like KLK did or any hyped/shock moments that Franxx did it just feels like a really safe play by Trigger.
>trigger
Hmm.
Seems to me like this was an experiment to see how Nakashima and Yoshinari's work might complement each other. Even if the reception is lackluster, the Netflix contract probably covered a lot of if not all of the costs of production.
It wasn't completely terrible, just completely unremarkable. And if they've learned anything after the more explosive receptions of DitF, Gridman and Promare is that the Netflix release model is terrible for hype generation.
thats the same way i felt before furry holocaust was shown to me on screen, episode 7 iirc
Cool, cool. Still want to fuck the raccoon girl.
Yeah I hope the anime industry as a whole tells Netflix to fuck off with the binge releases. It was bad enough relying on fansubs, but when it hits the Japanese releases it kills the hype as a whole.
I really don't understand why they don't do it. They did for Violet Evergarden and it worked out great but to my knowledge I don't think they've done it since.
same here
>Zig Forums experiences for the first time the way the netflix format of a full season drop can make a series feel more rushed than it it had released weekly, when the studio responsible for the series is still used to traditionally released shows and hasn't adapted their story-writing to feel more spread out for people binging the series.
>goes through the traditional but half decade old emotions of initial love of a series that then turns to bickering that falls on itself into claims the series was terrible outright because they can't come to terms with the reality of that it only seemed bad because of the way it was viewed and because they were left wanting more.
>Like a little kid eating all the cake because it was left in the open, feeling sick as a result, and blaming the cake being bad.
>reception was lackluster
pretty sure that's just the classic thing on this site of assuming the reaction to a piece of media here is universally shared and being ignorant to how hard of a contrast it is elsewhere.
dude i always maraton anime, i dont have netflix, format has nothing to do with this, retard, if something made me physically cringe its not because of the speed i consumed it with
One person isn't everyone.
Going by the Zig Forums threads when the second half dropped it was a case of people not having any problem except that it ended too soon, then actively looking for problems to pick at and be upset over.
it still had furry holocaust, and made them cringeworthy metaphore for minorities, it was tonedeaf, everything was fixed by awooing, and i felt that not after watching it, but during watching it
So is it worth watching? I was waiting for it to all be released but it seems like people seemed a bit upset about the ending or indifferent to the whole thing, so I've been hesitant to start.
Decide yourself.
Triggershit has always been awful. You're only noticing it now either because you're not a teenager anymore or your aversion to the character designs has removed your pro-Trigger bias.
On the contrary, you fucking dingus.
I referenced Darling in the FranXX which I know was both explosively received on Zig Forums as well as all over the internet. I also referenced Gridman which had a relatively small reception on Zig Forums compared to how it has dominated Japanese twitter and how Rikka and Akane continue to get tons of fan art and doujins. I also referenced Promare which had a lackluster reception on Zig Forums but blew up in the fujosphere and was so popular in international theaters that the movie was ordered for a second theatrical release along with a theme song sing-along segment at the end of the movie.
BNA comparatively to all of those shows both on Zig Forums and elsewhere is a total flop. I'm not being contrarian for the sake of it, I'd have loved to see BNA enjoy as much of a reception as the other shows but it wasn't good enough to do that.
So you agree with everyone that Netflix holding back on international release is shit.
>studio creates a show specically for a streaming service built on the binge watch model
>ITS THE AUDIENCES FAULT FOR BINGE WATCHING IT, THE STUDIO DID NO WRONG
Imagine being this retarded. The show sucked because it sucked. I can binge Madoka over and over again in single sittings and continue to love every second of it each time. I had to force myself to finish BNA in one sitting. And I was cringing and groaning and rolling my eyes the whole time at how much it sucked.
I think part of it is because I.G and Bones signed long-term deals, and they're probably thinking it's better to just do it because work's work.
Trigger is basically Zig Forums at this point, with their filthy sjw topics and westerner pandering. I wouldn't be surprised if their next project would some kind of Steven Universe spinoff be with a trans protagonist.
I agree that this release model did not help generate hype for the series. What I don't agree with is the implication I'm not looking outside of Zig Forums to base my opinions on. I am aware that buzz on Zig Forums does not paint an accurate picture of an anime's total popularity.
Michiru is cute and my gf
What? The final three episodes are structured around alt-right talking points. The city is going to dissolve into chaos because of too much diversity. The final boss gains his power from ethnic purity.
When the diversity thing was brought up, I thought it was a sign that Netflix tampered with the series, and at the end everyone would defeat the white evil while holding up a banner that says, "DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH". Instead they just play it straight.
>alt-right
>against bloodline purity
It's so weird becuase for Korean and Chinese dramas they do update weekly instead of dumping them only when a season is completed.
I think Netflix would work with stuff like the SYD ovas. Get a whole season or 2 of episodes released every few months.
>Trigger made another show that's complete shit
Not sure why is everyone so surprised.
Probably because they are being told to or their internal data collection shows that method draws more views. There is obviously a reason for they don't do it for anime which would likely be that they aren't forced to, they don't have any data to suggest that weekly releases increase anime viewings or they do have data to show that dropping a series all at once actually does increase the views an anime gets on their platform.
