It’s shit

Yup, this. All of these shitty snoozefest late 90s/early 00s deepstopyan bleak si fi series like this, Lain and Ergo Proxy are bad. Their only point is trying to be vague and philosophical, no substance whatsoever.

I agree aside from the part about shitting on Lain & Proxy. I actually like those 2 because they go out of their way to at least give you some eye candy and interesting group banter respectively while all Texhnolyze has is all the ow the edge and Death Stranding tier dialogue

The ending was so bleak and hopeless I cried like a bitch

For a story about the end of humanity, it’s actually a little uplifting, it just feels bad because everything around Ichise goes to shit. However for Ichise himself, all things considering, he gets a decent ending. After all the experiences he had, he died feeling everything: resentment, fulfilment, suffering and joy. He experienced everything humans have to offer and died with this understanding. The ending of Texh isn’t sad - For me, it’s the story of humanity’s last encore.

It can't be worse than Threads.

traffic warren did nothing wrong

Probably the most realistic anime depiction of dystopian future. Reminds me of Brave New World.

In all history of motion picture there never was a character that did nothing wrong as much as Yoshii

I kinda want to watch it just so that every other sad shit in existence feels less sad in comparison. Will it work?

It may present a tragic story with humanity going extinct but it has quite a positive personal story of finding content in life by finding meaning

Still not quite as bleak as real life.

tell me what anime you think has substance

>get bored
>decide to go fuck up humanity when given the chance
>nothing wrong
He did everything wrong.

I know the story is about how humanity needs to constantly struggle as we evolved to overcome conflict and hardship but I really just liked the sort of sub theme of how no matter shit got Ichise just kept on trucking. Having gone from making 6 figures to homeless to making 6 figures to borderline homeless and back I just sat there and went "at least I didn't lose a fucking arm and a leg." It's during those bleak times where you're just surviving and eventually get back on your feet that shit gets interesting and Ichise is well written to represent that (of course that is a part of the overarching theme).

He redeemed humanity and died a self-actualized man, you dirty philistine.

He set in motion the destruction of humanity and died like a dog.

But I am talking about Yoshii, not Ichise.
inb4 you actually missed the point this badly

You're the one who obviously missed the point, Yoshii never actually cared about stopping stagnation he was just a bored postal worker. Ichise is just a plot device showing how humans overcome struggle and survive and how important that is, he doesn't contribute to anything at all at the end of the day.

Read a book, philistine.

Naruto, One Punch Man, MHA

Do you want to tell me how Yoshii did anything right or just talk some shit?

Speedwatchers deserve the rope.

I always wonder what role would Ichise have played in the story if he didn't completely fucked up and killed Yoshii. Ran obviously needed him, that's why she rescued him from the sewers, even though she knows he could bring about humanity's end.

moron

Great arguments, glad I could be enlightened. Fucking idiots here, I swear the moeshit you watch must rot your brain.

No ones going to spoonfeed you newfag

>just throwing words around instead of refuting anything
If you didn't actually get the nuances of the show that's fine, if you want to just bump a thread that's fine, but please user, stop being retarded.

Sounds great. Can't wait to watch it.

It's very much my thing, too bad most anime are worthless in comparison.

>Ran obviously needed him, that's why she rescued him from the sewers
I don't believe this is the correct way to describe it as Ichise isn't somebody she "needs" so much as he's somebody she genuinely empathizes with and cares for--both of them are treated largely as tools for the groups they're affiliated with, and both were unfortunate enough to lose their parents early in life. Ran leads Ichise out of the sewers because she identifies with his struggle to keep on living in spite of terrible odds--Ran also constantly struggles to bear the burden of her visions, and its his survival that gives her the hope that the future can be changed.

It's different from Yoshii, who Ran treats as a potential benefactor who has both the greater perspective (coming from the surface) and the resources to upend Onishi's fragile peace and status quo that keep the Class in power, and by extension, are driving those underground towards the same stasis as the surface world.
