What are Zig Forums's thoughts on symphogear?

S1 had a nice idea, but plenty of QUALITY and shit writting, if it had left chris dead after stopping fines moon cannon and later having hibiki died it would still have been a nice anime overal, but it didnt

All the other seasons just double down on the garbage aspects of S1, except for the QUALITY, S1 had anm okay resolution to the character arcs of the main 3, and as such they become really boring in the next 4 seasons, also the designs from GX onwards make them look like a teenager group of wannabe power ranger sluts, they shouldnt have revealed so much of hibiki's and tsubasa's skin (the later being the worse as the fucking leotard is literally digging into her labia wtf) and they should have kept shira and kiri's dark looking designs

The music through all 5 seasons is hype tho

Overal it is pretty sad that this is the state of anime originals, it shows that someone somewhere had a nice idea, but nobody gave enough of a fuck to give it proper care and attention

I started it like half a year before AXZ, as I wrote I found S1 almost okay, so I had hope and kept watching, ended up binging the 3 seasons

I was kinda fed up with the shit tho, so even when AXZ aired I didnt watch it until like 8 months after, it wasnt as bad as GX so I still had hope that XV would be good, and this time I watched it as it was airing, it found it to have the best balance of writting and hype of the 5 seasons, and I actually thought that all of the shit was worth it and that this was finally going to be good, and then it all went to the shitter and by that episode I already had stopped giving a fuck, so I finally dropped it.

It feels like at some point, the writer decided to stop writing a good story and instead tried to write the most hotblooded and hype anime he possibly good without caring whether the actual story holds up.

I like the beginning parts but they started pulling their punches and it became kind of mindless and uncompelling

the men in the show are inexplicably retarded strong but normal people can't fight the main enemy force becaue they'll be disintegrated. Only symphogear wearers can fight the enemies and symphogears are all girls because it makes their coochies tingle

Started watching the series halfway through G. For the most part, Symphogear has messy writing and a lot of issues but the seasons are always a lot of fun once you've had time to mull them over and look past the clumsy but well-intentioned execution. GX was a notable low point and widely considered the black sheep of the series, mostly thanks to a bunch of very ambitious story beats it wanted to tell but didn't have a writing team competent enough to do so. XV on the other hand had a very strong beginning and some of the best standout moments in the entire series, but is otherwise an absolute dumpster fire of a season that trampled over half of the characters in favor of a shitty, rushed plot and the absolute worst villains in the series bar none.

Just watch season 1 and G and you'll get the best bits of the Symphogear experience. GX and AXZ are optional, in spite of how much I want to defend GX and say it's not as bad as what some people say (but won't because it's still fucking GX), but don't waste your time on XV.
