Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

Why does this anime encourage the audience to indulge in delusions to escape the hard truth of reality? Also Rikka thread.

There's a difference between pretending because you're bored and want to spice up your life and the outright mental delusion Rikka had. Yuuta kind of went hard in the opposite direction of Rikka and become NO FUN ALLOWED guy for a bit before he mellowed out.

The anime literally does the opposite of this. Makes more sense once you realize everything after episode 12 isn't canon

But S2

If you're going by the source light novel, only the first episode is really "canon". Kumin and Deko don't even show up until the later books, and there, Deko especially is explicitly gay for Rikka instead of ambiguously gay for Shinka.

It's more like don't go the opposite extreme and completely throw away imagination and flavor, they have their compelling place in life.

>Why does this anime encourage the audience to indulge in delusions to escape the hard truth of reality?
You could say that about 99% of anime.

Because it's poor man's Haruhi.

reported!

Maybe because reality is fucking shit and those who are able to completely immerse themselves in a character are able to avoid those truths and be happier as a result.

That's almost all anime though.
Then again, all that chuuni stuff was kinda relatable I guess.
Also Rikka a best.

did it though? I remember it being sort of a tug of war between Yuuta and Rikka.

It was on track to be better than Haruhi until episode 13 retroactively made the whole show shit

It doesn't, really. Yuuta and Shinka spend most of the series insisting that people have to face reality and not live in delusions. (Though paradoxically they do so by denying the reality of how they used to be.) Rikka and Dekomori are both forced to confront the harsh truth of reality. Eventually they reach the compromise of "you can have fun playing your games, but don't lose sight of reality".

>Makes more sense once you realize everything after episode 12 isn't canon
The anime and the novel are each their own continuity. You can't really call one canonical and the other not, and even if you insist on doing so it's all or nothing, not "the anime is canon up until this point".

didn't chu2's first season had 12 episodes? anyway no, show is boring and inconsistent, if anything season 1's finale is a fine conclusion to an otherwise mediocre show.

She was miserable otherwise

Where do you think you are?

>she is a retard but it's okay, she is cute afterl all UwU
I fucking hate women. They get everything for doing nothing.

why does megumin has purple hair now

Are there any other anime/manga where the male MC bullies the heroines? I'm tired of seeing the opposite.

Either it is a wig or she dyes her hair.

>for doing nothing
If that were true you wouldn't be here.

But she’s really cute, user

There's nothing wrong with avoiding reality as long as it doesn't hurt your productivity. There are things in life you'll never get and some other that will screw you up without you having anything to do with nor any chance to change the outcome so i don't see a problem in indulging yourself with some sweet delusions at such times in order to get enough rest from reality to recover and keep going.

Any decent person knows they are totally different shows that each have a place as top tier. KyoAni doesn't fuck around.

Haruhi or Violet?

Everything is canon you fucking retard. You can't be serious, even Non said it from the start that it is a derivative show with no overlap. Episode 1 and onward are not the LN in anyway. Did you even read the fucking LN or watch any of the animated content?
Your own personal headcanon isn't what anyone else thinks.

Kids like these two are why Zig Forums is now shit. Chunibyo threads were all over 7 years ago and none of these idiots pretend canon were ever recognized as anything but bad bait.
