In old anthropomorphic animation this was almost never an issue. You either had a society that was mostly consistent of 1 creature (example: The Rescuers), or a society that was full of random animals and no one gave a fuck (example: Mickey Mouse, TailSpin, Star Fox).

No offense but have you SEEN what modern day western cartoons look like? So many boys grew up with the designs of Adventure Time such HIDEOUS character designs for female characters and worse the stupid show tries to obviously do drama but with such stupid garbage looking characters. I honestly straight up cannot take it seriously.

The scene where Finn's arm is ripped off is so stupid. His character design doesn't help but seeing his arm ripped off and he doesn't bleed and doesn't react with pain? Further makes it garbage. Now compare that to seeing I don't know any given anime character getting their arm painfully removed you see the blood, they scream in natural pain, and because their designs are better I feel like I am looking at a more human character compared to a stick figure doodle with noodle arms so the anime characters has me more invested in whatever happens to them.

But back to female designs. AT is one culprit. Others are garbage like She-Re's recent reboot and Steven Universe. Such hideous art styles that losers pretend are hot. It's sad but of recent times the most "attractive" western character designs are the Kipo ones which blatantly look like an inferior knock off of the first Teen Titans art style (which was obviously ripping off anime in the first place). It's a sorry state of affairs but hey the west is full of losers, simps, and cucks who bend backwards for women so of course they'll obey women's demands and create all these ugly looking females drawn up by people who also do NOT know how to draw either.
