There is no point. There is no reason. You get cute girls to do cute things and the product will fly off the shelves.
What bothered me the most about K-On! is that they had the girls spend every episode eating cake and messing around, then the last episode or two they finally remind you about the cultural festival and even without practicing all year, they're the best at their musical instrument of all time.
