Doesn't have to all be one show, I'll start >Series 5Ds even if the latter half is sub par it has a lot of exciting and classic moments that still make it a joy to watch through even if it does have the worst duel in the entire YGO franchise >Protagonist Yugi because he has the best growth going from a shy kid into someone willing to sacrifice their life if it meant their best friend will live >Rival Kaiba since he remains an actual rival and is always antagonistic and condescending. It makes you look forward to him getting his shit pushed in >Main Girl Pic related I'm still seething how they did her dirty >Duel I really liked Jonouchi vs Rishid since it demonstrates Jou the best. He's someone with street smarts and can read people really well. He's able to deduce Rishid through logic in his playing style how it's not like how Marik would act. It's enough for even someone like Kaiba to believe him. I also like how we grew throughout the duel where at the beginning when he's at a major disadvantage he doubts himself and almost throws the match if it wasn't for Mai and Yami Yugi snapping him out and by the end he accepts there's no hope he can beat Rishid's ace monster and prepares to lose. It even gets Mai wet for how cool he was about it. Yugi vs Strings is also up there. >Arc Probably Battle City for having some of the most memorable duels in the franchise
>Series Duel Monsters. I'm a bit biased and with the risk of sounding like a nostalgiafag, it was the one I saw when I was just a kid and has a special spot in my memory. It also has this cheesy and over the top appeal that to this day, is still great. It was the one that started all and gave us lots of unforgettable moments. Honorable mention to 5D >Protagonist Yugi. I really enjoyed the way Yugi matured through the manga and how little by little he transforms into the duelist and person Atem always saw in him. >Rival Kaiba. A man autistic enough to travel to the afterlife just for a duel is a man worthy of all the respect in the world >Main girl Alexis/Asuka. She has a few nice duels, she has her own motivations and dreams (which are explored in the 4th season) and I also really liked her relationship and interactions with Jaden/Judai. >Duel Probably Yugi vs Atem. >Arc Battle City or Fortune Cup Duels.
