This is the volume that the entire series has been leading up to, ever since the beginning. I'm not fucking around either; Chapter 1 is titled "To You, 2,000 Years from Now", and Chapter 122 is titled "From You, 2,000 Years Ago." This is it. Volume 30 is many people's favorite volume cause of Chapter 121 and 122 alone. From this point on, nothing will ever be the same.
In Volume 29, we begin with the remaining half of Zeke's body reminiscing about how he came up with his secret plan, which involves the euthanization of Eldians so as to prevent future descendants from suffering as a result of their birth. We get a flashback of hobo-eren agreeing to conspire with Zeke, and we get a brief glimpse of a ragged girl in a desertlike area. Zeke is healed tauntaun-style by one of his titans, and a gang of Yeagarists + Floch + Hange come upon the wreckage. Levi was maimed, and Hange jumps into the river with him when the Yeags aren't looking. Pieck infiltrates and meets Eren. After a cool scene on a roof, Pock appears as Jaws and dismembers Eren. Marleyan blimps + soldiers appear. War begins. Gabi is taken by Pieck to the Marleyans. Eren fights Reiner and Pock. Yelena explains her extremely pretentious motivations. The gang almost defeats Eren, but Zeke comes in with a boulder pitch and starts shooting down the blimps. Falco meets up with Gabi and confesses his suki. Zeke is shot in the nape by a Magath-operated Cart titan rifle.

You are easily impressed if a mere callback gets you this excited. Also, garbage alternate cover. The other one is miles better, albeit still shit because the author can't draw.
I think before seeing his bro's memories and learning the truth his zeal was part overcompensating because Reiner had been chosen over him and part desire for revenge after getting utterly humiliated in Liberio when Eren used him as a nutcracker.
God, it's like Jon Snow. Character escapes certain death because of divine plot armor.

Because Eren left and the rumbling is probably getting stopped. Anyone who didn't like AMJC in the first place is going to have a bad time reading chapters with a lot of them in it.
