Shinkai will never write stories like this again, the pressure to make movies that only appeal to the simple minded masses is too great, and those people only want basic and happy stories.
zoomer who grew up with smartphones
It finds a way
It will always remain Shinkai's magnum opus even though my personal favourite is Garden of Words. The sadness in this movies has a beauty which hurts to look at and you still can't help but be amazed by it. Every frame is beautiful, that rocket scene is one of my all time favourite scene in anime. But the final scene is the perfect culmination of that feeling. Shinkai will never make a movie like this ever again. It's hard for me to re-watch this movie again knowing how hard the ending hit me.
And then after the movie is over and you watch one more time, one more chance fmv, it kicks you in the balls again.
Couldn't come up with anything to say
I'm fairly certain it even has that at the end of Hoshi no Koe
I thought it was boring as shit the first time I watched it
