I watched the Ampleforth threads from the start but never bought in.
The white paper describes a leveraged pyramid scheme. If you buy into a regular pyramid scheme, you make more money as more people join and lose when people love. But because of the rebase mechanism, this is amplified. It's even in the name of the coin - AMPLEforth. It's all there in the whitepaper and I have absolutely no sympathy for people buying a leveraged pyramid scheme because they hoped someone else would become a bagholder before the negative rebases began.
That said, the organised pump and dumps are getting really annoying and jannies need to step up their game. There are clearly groups of people behind this and are fleecing newfags for everything they've got, particularly english as a second language pajeets who can't distinguish between a native speaker and a venezuelan.

Not true it doesn't amplify the gain/loss it amplifies the supply to try and remain stable. But when the price moves too quickly because the new supply isn't being dumped it just compounds itself to the moon until someone finally sells. There is a solution to this problem long term but I'm not spoonfeeding.
