Like, that's a master stroke move right there. No-one is going to consider Sasuke being a faithful husband as a punishment and that makes it the best punishment.

He wanted to change the world in his lifetime by his own power, not wait for several generations for his grand-grand-grand-grand children to restore his clan's prestige, like that would accomplish anything. The bloodline was inevitably doomed the moment Itachi wiped them anyway. For a criminal to be allowed to live a normal life, marry and have a kid is quite the light slap on the wrist.

Desertion is absolutely a crime if you're part of the secret police and you desert to the country that instigated an attack on the city and killed the chief of police. Akatsuki was absolutely a terrorist organization, regardless of who used them. They are also the group that instigated the war on the whole fucking world and turned everyone into a tree. The kages did nothing wrong apart from the previous Mizu and Kaze, and you should care about Killerbee since it equates to stealing a nuke from a country to then use it.
