A thread for the fallen (or on life support)
Mangas that have undergone major hiatuses or been cancelled because of exploding wrists.
A thread for the fallen (or on life support)
I miss it bros
D.Gray-man is still releasing regularly, it's just on a quarterly magazine. You fucking retard.
>3 months for 30 pages is ok
You might as well kill yourself like Hoshino killed her manga.
Reading it on onemanga was really comfy.
I hope that I will see it ending during my lifetime.
>(or on life support)
I am more upset about the fact that it became shit after the Noah's Ark Arc. The fact that I have to wait exceedingly long periods of time is just the cherry on the disappointing cake.
I miss Yami no Matsuei. The art became better, but the story's a mess. There's still so many things left unresolved.
I have a weakness for series that apply RPG mechanics like EXP to their “real” worlds
D gray man is taking the pace recently, better 4 chapters a year than nothing like we had for years.
also it's because she had lots of health issues including a rather embarassing one.
the current arc is pretty good but i would call DGM a shonen anymore, it became something else and i like it.
*wouldn't
It came back like 2 years ago and is in the same magazine D Gray man runs in which is Jump SQ Rise.
And D. Gray-man is still more or less popular among it's core audience. I think the user's favorite theories about "cancelled" manga endings is false if even D.gray-man not canceled.
>anime was 5 years ago
is D.Gray-Man even close to wrapping up it's story? I stopped reading forever ago, wanna get back into it, but maybe would rather wait til it's almost done.
What the fuck. Didn’t the artist die?
not finished yet, no , the current arc is Mana's point of view backstory and who Allen was, his real identity , i really like this arc.
but no, she said she isn't ending DGM yet, plenty more story to tell.
No, the artist had wrist problems and took like 7 years off to heal.
I really remember good times when we still had hopes and threads with Lenalee's legs posting
more than that, you also forgot the very embarassing illness she had for years.
newfags and unbelievers got off the train, and that's good, current DGM is really good albeit slower.
Damn. Well, as long as she's still producing quality content I guess that it's better to wait for it rather than it getting a rushed ending.
>wrists
Aren't artists supposed to draw with their shoulders?
On small size paper/tablet? No.
>a rather embarassing one
Hemoroids?
>more than that, you also forgot the very embarassing illness she had for years
do we know what it was? i can't imagine any illness being that embarrassing... i mean i guess if she had to wear a colonoscopy bag or something it could be, not that i would think anyone would judge/make fun of anyone for it
she had the norwalk virus at some point, then neck problems, then wrist injury, then back pains, then something else but i forgot what, i think she also broke her wrist another time.
she still persisted though.
Sweet, I’ll have to check it out! Also, I guess I was thinking of High School of the Dead’s writer
it caused diarreah (among other things), she had the Norwalk virus for a while then something else that also caused this but for a longer period of time.
yikes that sucks. hope she's doing better now.
iirc the creator of fruits basket had a wrist issue as well and took about a year off. her art style changed by the time she was able to draw again, and apparently got a lot of hate for it.
where, as far as i know, d.gray-man's art just keeps getting better, or am i mistaken?
RIP
>all those illnesses
Did she break a mirror or something? Still I'm glad she's hanging in there despite those difficulties.
yeah, DGM art is way better than before, Hoshino set up an instagram account near the end of her hiatus where she shared drawing (not always DGM related) and she really trained hard to get better, she tried lots of different drawing styles too.
>ou also forgot the very embarassing illness she had for years.
I'm talking about the Beet duo which is two guys. While the artist was out of commission I also know the writer worked on one of the kamen rider series. I actually think Jump SQ collects all the artists who had wrist problems since I know of at least 3 series running in it that have the same background of medical problems.
>Also, I guess I was thinking of High School of the Dead’s writer
Oh yeah, he's unfortunately passed away and it still hurts. Speaking of which, pic related falls into the same category of Fallen mangaka.
I remember not really liking the artstyle when she just came back from the hiatus. The current one however is indeed way better than the old one.
