In the manga they have them in a music club in college and it's more than just them. There's two bands iirc. The college story isn't really good though but Kyoani could improve it like they did with a lot of the series. The other sequel is with Azusa and some other characters (including Jun and Ui) continuing in the high school light music club. It's actually pretty good already imo. Plus there's Shuffle, but I haven't read that yet.
I liked it and would be fine with having an adaptation.

See The continuation of the high school setting with Azusa is pretty good. The college stuff with HTT isn't very good but might be able to be used as a sort of skeleton for whatever Kyoani wanted to do with it. Unfortunately Kyoani has no interest in making good shows anymore. I don't know if adapting only one of them would make for even a 12 episode season though. They're only 1 volume each.
The anime adapts pretty much everything from the original manga though iirc.
