They only remember the good series that stood the test of time. And not all the thousands of other shitty anime that are forgotten.

There weren't thousands of anime being produced in the 80s or 90s, you don't know what you're talking about

They didn't sit through 15 minutes of stock footage per episode and powerpoint backgrounds

this is a funny thread

No,there are simply alot less good animes nowadays. And anime peaked between early 90s and ever since 2008 its been on a steep downward slope. In early 2010s we had few death spams of the medium and i can sauy without a doubt that anime has been dead for at least 5 years now.
The fact that there are more studios adn anime being made now thab ever, but there are pretty much no really good shows to show for it should be really telling.
Also OVAs and movies have been dead fort more than a decade. That was the best part of the medium.

Are you any less stupid for thinking that 2010s tv anime is good?

Yes

They haven't watched anything else and they don't care about anime at all.

80's and 90's OVA were objectively peak of animation quality and aesthetics doesn't mean that there are no good animes now, sure they are. Old OVAs has just it's unique atmosphere that won't comeback.

Not all. A few do think that and they are morons.

By the way, CC is fucking terrible.

>80s and early 90s OVAs were the only good anime ever made
Because they are.

You just described Zoomers and their retarded love of modern anime.

LOL NO

The better question is: Why do they think OVAs are good? There are no more than a handful that are worth watching. The others are an utter waste of some and you're better off just watching the 20 second long clips on Sakugabooru instead of watching 3 hours of this dreck.

Too bad OVAs were almost never full adaptations of the manga/novel, all you got were nicely animated but incomplete products that forced you to still read the source material. It's a double edged format.

It's the same shit. I don't think anyone who really likes anime can say stuff like there's nothing good since 2010 or 2000, or only new anime is good, or anime is dead, or whatever dumb shit you read in this threads. Worse of it is there has been people saying the same since the 90's, there has always been some enemy killing the industry just because they don't bother to find something like the few series they have watched.
And it's fine if that could be cointaned in Zig Forums or other boards but having to read "all anime is shit except the four series I watched as a teen" here in Zig Forums is depressing.

I'm sure some listless Gen X'ers do it, but it's mostly a Gen Z thing, since they get that impression from their favorite youtuber.
Same with with the aforementioned listless X'ers, I suppose.

Is there an anime the past ten years that's completely perfect in story and animation? Is there anime from 1960 to 2000 that's perfect? It's seems like it's just people saying "Old is bad" "New is bad", without giving any examples for either.

Yeah, I totally agree. I love anime from every decade, back to the origins of televised anime in the 60s. (Admittedly, I begin enjoying anime more from the mid-80s onwards, where it begins resembling modern anime at least somewhat; 60s, 70s, and early 80s are a completely different thing, but I still enjoy them all the same.)

Perfection doesn't exist, but there have been plenty who came close enough to qualify them as such. Just so happens those "near flawless works" tend to be movies, rather than series'. Series' are already flawed by virtue of their forced episodic climaxes and low budget productions.

anime writing is mostly terrible anyways. might as well go back to when the substance was all in the style.

Can you actually name them instead of being vague? Like I said, I'd like to see peoples examples of what's the 'best' or 'near perfect' anime.

Japanese writers are influenced by their own culture and develop different storytelling styles than westerners. They are not too straightforward in the exposition, their boner for leaving things unclear can piss off the viewer.

>They are not too straightforward in the exposition
I have never watched or read anything new or old that was hard to follow story wise from Japan. If anything, newer writers, especially light novel authors, tend to spell everything out.

Cause generalizing is easy and it makes normalfags feel like they have a personality.

It's normalfags that hate thinking about population averages.

we had Vinland Saga last years which was good

Well what does a population average have to do with your life unless you happen to work in a job where that's relevant?

The company I keep, for instance.
But now you're delving into normalfag questions, you see

>LOL NO
Exposed! What the hell do you like about CC?

I just prefer the aesthetic they had and think the storylines were less embarrassing than the weeb shit we get nowadays

I just think you should watch more anime.
