Pretty damn good. Kon is a genius.

One of my favorites. Kino as fuck.

One of the few 10/10s for me. Episode 2 was the worst one, barely made it through

it's great but the pacing is uneven. could have probably been trimmed down to a great movie by removing the "filler" episodes
that being said those episodes are arguably the best part of the show, so I'll take brilliant but uneven over tight but comparatively blander any day

I enjoyed it a lot. I do have to say that it doesn't entirely work if you view it expecting an overarching narrative. Kon made the series by assembling ideas that he felt weren't appropriate for a feature film yet not worth throwing out. Viewing it understanding it is somewhat of a hybrid-anthology though, it works quite well. Definitely worth the watch.

It's great and VERY relevant if you're a regular user of this board

I can't stand how abrasive Kon's style is. Better than Paprika at least.

Mindless slop for brainlet pseuds. Kon did some decent works, but this one is dumster fire.

It's ok. The message gets pretty messy, and the ending is a big let down. Kon peaked with Perfect Blue

Was it about anything related to quantum mechanics or the observer effect like Lain? Or was it just everyone being delusional? It really could go either way, in fact, there's no way to tell one way or the other

fapped to the that bikini witch when they go into that makeup world many times

It is the Gosenzosama Banbanzai equivalent of Kon

oh thats interesting. Why is it relevant for Zig Forums? (no spoilers ofc haha)

Didn't even care to finish it, was really uninteresting

Explaining it is a spoiler. Just watch it, it's not that long

must not runaway
must not turn your back on him
he comes for people who have been driven into a corner and have nowhere to go
MUST NOT TALK ABOUT HIM
MUST NOT THINK ABOUT HIM
RUMORS HELP HIM GROW
IMAGINATION, PARANOIA NURTURES HIM

it was about mass delusion, a single girl's delusion gives rise to delusions in others who use it as an excuse just like she did, the legitimacy of multiple claims of the same delusion makes the delusion real, once you start feeling sympathy for the "victims," you too fall for the delusion

very boring

Pretty sure it's about bayoneting pregnant chinese peasants user

Kon peaked with Paprika

>spoiler
Yes, i got that, but
>the legitimacy of multiple claims of the same delusion makes the delusion real
The observer effect is basically that, but in a literal sense. That's why i'm saying there's no way to know either way.

>the solemn toaster prosecuted the blue cup for its spaghetti
for ninety fucking minutes

Wasn't very entertained by a lot of it, but it made me have an existential crisis so there's that

oh so it's about nothingburger
relevant to current world then, but Zig Forums never goes out

if you're talking about when things go off the rails and it seems like he's actually real, at that point the detectives have fallen for the delusion, so they're believing things they really shouldn't
as for when it seems like little slugger is actually physical, and then he becomes an akira flesh monster that multiple people can see, lmao idk man

started out interesting but then disappointed. 5/10

It was too slow
Also the suicidal lads part was great

>that part where the two guys are suicidal so they chase after him and he runs away

I remember being underwhelmed by it. Maybe I'll rewatch it when I have the time.

Watching it again with the AS airings. I remember liking it a lot back in the day, but I was always a bit confused with the ending. Maybe I'll get it now.
Anyone have an explanation for why the younger cop guy is suddenly in the place of the old man writing on the pavement?

it probably is boosted in a lot of people's minds because it aired on adult swim at like 2 AM, and so they watched it while brain addled and likely out of episode order
I don't intend to rewatch it and spoil that for myself

Weren’t they already ghosts then?

>I don't intend to rewatch it and spoil that for myself
I fully comprehend this sentiment.

yeah

It's very weird. I went into it expecting nothing and it was just maybe a very average 5.5/10 by the end? It's actually a lot like a Miyazaki film, very weird pacing without any satisfying denouement.

Loved it. The cop's wife is the fastest a character went from 0 to 10 I've ever seen. Incredible last scene as well. This show just has so many good fucking moments.

That's why i'm saying it could go either way, we know everyone believes he's here, but is he ACTUALLY here due to quantum bullshit or is the show just showing him to us because that's what every character sees? The answer is, we have no way of knowing.
