Kawaki likely send Naruto to another dimension or something but most of the Boruto anime until now has Naruto and the parents around the younger generation.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Boruto anime success influenced this Yashahime revival, people here might not like but Boruto is bringing the money to TV Tokyo even if the manga isn’t selling amazingly well, Nip kids love the anime.
No doubt all the demons would have died out or gotten sealed up somewhere eventually as they don't seem to exist in modern day Japan save for the one that's shows up for dead kids, I'm wondering what happens to Kagome though.
In YYH lore there wasn’t a barrier between demon world (Makai) and the human world in ancient times.
I suspect Yashahime will more or less have the same vibes as Boruto, and the parents aren't really dead.

Boruto has a lot of slice of life moments with the parents, even moments with Naruto and Sasuke fighting together as the high-light of the show. Everything we know about Yashahime until now it seems will be entirely focused in the three main daughters with none of the parents around, even Sasuke showed up in Boruto, maybe Yashahime will have its “Naruto+SasukeVsMomoshiki” with Inuyasha and Sesshomaru against some super enemy.

The sequel will focus more in the modern world we may get to see demons causing havoc and destruction there, the big question will this sequel focus on demons vs humans in the modern world?

The anime official name is Hanyo no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoshi, it will be the same situation as Inuyasha where most of adventure happens in the Sengoku period and the modern world just as a side part.
