Sanrio made some fantastic mahou shoujo series over the last decade. It's not much but at least fans of the genre have options. Precure dying would likely lead to a new golden age. I sort of hope the franchise is terribly mismanaged over the next couple years.

Maho and Kira brought precure to its knees but Hugtto saved the franchise. Apparently the Space Precure did OK so we have to wait at least a couple of years

This really made it for me. I guess that the main motive for the bad guys to want to capture the Mermaid Princesses was that violence and killing them was off-limits for the age slot.
But damn, the way the bad girls always taunted how they were going to catch them and make the perfect gifts for their master was just food for lewd thought.

Mermaid Melody is one anime I may end up watching after I've finished tons of stuff I've already begun working on.
Back in the early/mid 2000s I downloaded an anime episode, my first downloaded anime episode ever, and it was about mermaids and took place on a beach. I wonder if Mermaid Melody could've been the anime I downloaded.

The music though. I've tried listening to a few songs on Youtube, and none of them have been good, and someone in another thread linked a horrible song from the show, which makes me believe that all the songs in this anime about songs are horrible. I wish someone edited in the Italian songs instead, or maybe even that the Italian dub had English subs if it has watchable voice acting.

Maybe you could try getting the subs and load them over a file in Italian or Spanish. You don't even need to reencode them.
