It's been years and we still don't know what killed the hype
OPM

took itself too seriously instead of the parody it was meant to be
For me, it was oversexualizing tatsumaki.
>Inb4 normie
I've never once thought, reading OPM, that it was a parody.
OPM is a comedy.
Filler chapters killed the hype
it's original intention was to mock the shounen genre tho
This. It was supposed to mock shounon shit and it became shounon shit.
The last few chapters have been great. totally satisfactory. Most of them are totally satisfied with the development of One PUnch Man for the moment. So they don't want to demand more at the moment.
Since when? The only thing it did different was saitama existing.
this has to be b8
No seriously I don't recall this series ever being parody. Even IF it was it stopped being that long time ago.
There's a reason the two main villains are a literal dragonball ripoff and a kid who's character is a combination of overused shonen tropes that just happens to be the antagonist
Parodies are usually comedic.
The origin of the hype, the webcomic, stopped updating
ONE JOKE MAN
lmao
>since when is One Punch Man a parody?
There's a 0% chance this isn't bait, but I also want to believe there's people who can make threads on Zig Forums who think this way.
It's not bait
even i can't believe you

Genga that did the choze vs suiryu fight better than a staff
JC Staff is incompetent, more at 11
Fubuki is perfection.
Tatsumaki is great too.
Would your opinion change if Tatsumaki's assets were more pronounced?
shity release schedules actually
What about Do-S though
I keep getting reminded how it was fucked up. Out expectations were low and they somehow surpassed them to newer depths
Tell it to me straight Mungus, what's with this namefag I saw on /d/ that happens to share your fetish for muscle girls and Eyesight, talks about OPM for no reason and has a name that starts with an M and ends with an S?
Twas I. ME, user.
But which is the real user?!
Yes I am mentos.
Case closed, gentlemen
Don't see what ita a case closed on but ...ok
This The manga now has a plot, which was never the point.
>OPM is a high IQ comedy making fun of the shounen genre, or shounenshit as I like to call it
80 IQ take. OPM was always a collection of shitty shounen tropes, and while there were gag segments now and then it always took itself somewhat seriously.
It was never very good. Mob Psycho 100 is by far One's better work.
This arc wouldn't be so rough if the manga stayed 1:1 with the webcomic
>Mogudan Tatsumaki tho
It's dragging it's heels and the only thing propping it up is Murata's drawing, which got tiresome when it's the only thing supporting filler. I haven't counted the chapters of the original webcomic run of the Monster Association arc but I'm pretty sure it finished in 30 chapters or less.
I remember a while back a friend asked me about the draw of OPM. He asked me how it's not boring, considering there's no risk or challenge to an MC that can defeat anything (Kind of in the same vein as how Superman is a bland character compared to Batman). I replied with an asspull bs answer:
>Imagine writing a compelling story with that handicap yet still making it interesting, it must be doing something right.
To this day I still can't say for sure what it was doing right and if it was doing it right at all. Was it the struggles of all the other characters, was it the pure sex of Murata's art or was it the novelty of it. I don't fucking know but I still read them as they get scanned.
King's intro to Garou's defeat was Ch. 42 - Ch. 94
