Pre-Koimonogatari she was an active detriment to my enjoyment. I nearly dropped S2 when Otori started up. After that, and her bits in Zoku Owari (plus her back-and-forth with the snake and her sukeban mode in Otori), I warmed up to her.
Anyone who likes her prior to Koimonogatari, in my book, is probably someone who thinks they can "fix" this type of chicks' internal problems with their own external efforts/a good dicking (before subsequently getting slapped in the face by reality).

Nah, everyone was way too mean to Nadeko in Otorimonogatari. Her inaction can cause problems to others, but she suffers from this too. People are constantly taking advantage of her fragility, and she just doesn't have the strenght to fight back because it's easier to take it all like a good girl. She tries so hard to break the vicious cycle. She hates herself so much for it. Keeps so much resentment bottled up inside. There's no way I can hate a character this relatable
