What went wrong?

nothing, it actually got better imo

The Wali fight was the low point desu.

Not enough oxygen

Not enough based Volg to help ippo erase block with the face.

Ippo has improved so much since Sendo took the spotlight. Honestly he might as well take over as the main character, Ippo is starting to get really annoying with his constant indecisiveness

I'm going to Itagaki's house tonight Ippo. See you tomorrow!

...

Why did he do this again? I haven't kept up with this manga in forever.

He's showing signs of brain damage and doesn't want to risk it getting worse.

Is she the worst thing to ever happen to this manga?

So then why is Takamura so butthurt about him leaving. It makes perfect sense.

This. Sendo was always more interesting and charismatic than Ippo but I didn't think he could work as an MC. Glad I was wrong, he's pretty great.

>thinking she would choose a dicklet over the black mamba.

It's been stagnating ever since the David Eagle fight. And boxing MCs block punches with their head.

Can we agree it was his coach's fault?

No, that's Kamogawa.

How old is the author? What're the chances he can pump out another 1000 chapters to finish ippo?

54, so he's still got it in him.

Mostly, but Ippo should have called him out. Compare to Miyata, who switched gyms and is doing much better than Ippo despite being in a suboptimal weight class.

Is Ippo a story about how having the attitude of a never-give-up shonen protagonist is a bad thing?

It's a story about natural advantage trumping hard work, since Takamura is a multiple time world champion.

But Takamura works just as hard as Ippo and wouldn't be world champion without it, even with his talent.

He didn’t retire

Nothing, the story is just as good as when it started.

His coach went senile

20 more years lads

Im watching the anime instead of reading the manga
I hope the girl Ippo crushes on isnt going to keep acting like her brother isnt a fucking sadistic psycho

Nothing the series is still great. If Sendo Erza's a victory with Yamato Damashii and not tactics I'm gonna be pretty pissed though.

Absolutely nothing. The only real problem is one that the series has as a whole, in that the pacing is too slow. Ippo has learned more about boxing than he ever could tanking everything until he was rendered retarded. His opponents acknowledged this, his gym mates acknowledged this, even his coach acknowledged this. At last, Ippo has finally acknowledged it himself, and others are able to bask in the limelight while he grows as a character and possibly returns to the ring. Chances are he'll make a comeback since his story directly parallels Kamogawa's youth.

Here's the real question: will Sendo return to Japan punch drunk?
