Will it be the next Kimetsu no Yaiba?
Can it be the next normies choice?
Will it be the next Kimetsu no Yaiba?
Oh hey its another show about school boys fighting monsters
>Will it be the next Kimetsu no Yaiba?
probably not
>Can it be the next normies choice?
in Japan, definitely, in the west it remains to be seen
Makis so fucking cool bros
Kimetsu has massive normalfag appeal that reaches multiple demographics (from 5 y/o to old housewives), whatever series that hopes to be the next KnY (if such a thing is possible) can't have a niche appeal.
no, kimetsu is one of those once in every 50 years events
it'll likely be on MHA level, or slightly below, though.
But bro. SnK and One punch man were also as big and KnY. That sure is a lot of 50 year event shows in a span of a decade
Even Act Age gets more discussion nowadays then this series....... KnY was a smash hit because while it is nothing original it was simple, effective and had a great readability. JJK on the other hand has a convoluted storytelling and is hard to follow.
>a convoluted storytelling and is hard to follow
How?
Its basic bitch shonen story telling
Follow guy, guy gets into fights, wins or losses, progress with next plot point
>Mappa Kaisen
>Next Kimetsu no Yaiba
Nope
^this many people already seriously responding to a discord tranny’s bait post
>Will it be the next Kimetsu no Yaiba?
is not made by Ufotable so hell no
>Will it be the next Kimetsu no Yaiba?
No
>SnK and One punch man were also as big and KnY.
not really
>SnK and One punch man were also as big and KnY
Can we not compare the two or try and foster some kind of bar to be reached that isn't truly there.
>basic bitch
>misspells loses.
uh huh.
>some kind of bar to be reached that isn't truly there.
but it is there, ask the publishers
>mappa
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Kimetsu was only popular because of Ufotable's normalfag bait shiny visuals. It also focused on shitty drama instead of fights and normalfags love that. JJK is a fight focused manga and it's not even DBZ-style power level fights, it doesn't have mass appeal.
You think the publishers set the bar where kimetsu is rn?
June 2020, I am forgotten
But Mappa is good
People really overrate OPM in the west huh.
KnY is bigger than both combined.
SnK went from 3m in 2012 to 30m in 2014 after the anime. That's 2 years. OPM is probably some irrelevant millions, let's highball and say 15m.
Kimetsu went from something like 2-3m to 55m in 8 months. And I predict another 20-25m or so in the next 4 months.
That'd mean it'll sell close to 60-65m volumes in a single fiscal year, dwarfing other similiar series like the 2nd place, OP, which sold 33m over the same period of time.
KnY was generic as fuck trash, but it was animated by Ufotable which elevated the series a bit and got really popular.
This one is even more generic, not even samurai kids fight monster, but school kids fight monster. We have had the latter in 1mil other series.
Also the story and characters are generic shounenshit trash +Mappa and you have a recipy for killing a series.
Just look at fureforce and that one had a cool concept, tits, nice animation and its still flopped hard.
>Mappa
no
>Mappa Kaisen
I wish it would become as successful as kny, but there's no way that's happening. Also, unironically JJK is too good to be enjoyed by such a wide audience.
>JJK
Ah yes that manga from shounen jump with writing that reminds me of dry, stale bread.
Is it just me or are the character designs like, really ugly and not similar to their manga counterparts at all? Specially Nobara
>JJK on the other hand has a convoluted storytelling and is hard to follow.
I'm glad that Jujutsu is a pleb filtwr
Yeah nobara's nose looks like shit they gave her a Jew nose. I hope they don't do the same to my wife Maki.
Fire force took almost 20 episodes to become slightly interesting to watch.
the JJK manga was interesting from the start with the whole Sukuna/Itadori dynamic, which in the last like, 50 chapters, has been mentioned exactly once in one panel.
To make it worse the current arc revolves around having the second most interesting character in the whole thing locked up while everyone else tries to rescue him.
No it's an pleb filter which makes it good. I would rather not have people who think KnY is good invading Jujutsu threads.
>JJK on the other hand has a convoluted storytelling and is hard to follow.
Only because of inconsistent and incompetent scanlations. Any of the series-specific terminology gets confusing when the translators keep changing what they use.
