The remake will cut the filler, spend more time on the canon parts in the manga, and cover all of the manga rather than ending early.
It'll also have an updated artstyle and follow modern aesthetic sensibilities and use more modern technology in production.

Just pick it up and learn it user, take your time there's no need to rush. Yui probably learnt it in less than a year in order to play at the school festival. Personally it took me 2 years to play thrash metal songs comfortably, it all depends on the genre you want to play and how willing you are to learn

The anime was pretty close to the manga really. If you look at the manga you notice most of the same jokes, they're just one after another while in the anime they put lots of stuff in between (For instance the whole job thing to get Yui a guitar iirc is an anime thing. Mugi haggling with the guy happens immediately when Yui says she wants the guitar in the manga). It covered most of it (the stuff near the end changed the most iirc) but it just also had tons of original content that fit the series really well. It's pretty different from taking a manga and butchering it by cutting out lots of things or changing things around for no reason like most adaptations do.
