Naruto wasn't really my first anime (it was probably something like pokemon or dragon ball), but Naruto was the first anime i watched in Japanese on the internet when i realized there was way more than what cartoon network had. As for the others i just randomly picked whatever felt representative of what i currently read.

I do read smaller series/oneshots as well Omoide Emanon and Hoshi no Koe were recent reads that were pretty good but I don't want to reference random small manga that nobody reads.

Naruto was my official gateway into downloading fansubbed anime, though I think I had some false starts with Pokemon or Sailor Moon.

But I think watching Lupin III on television in my early teens influenced my current taste the most. I mainly watch older anime with the odd new show every now and then.

I started with Pokemon and Digimon and the only ongoing anime I'm watching at the moment are Pokemon and Digimon.

It's not as if my tastes never changed, I went through my phase of hating the Pokemon anime and only watching cool seasonal mature stuff, but it just got to a point where it felt like I was just watching the same thing over and over again with a different coat of paint every month. I only really watch originals these days, most of which are kids shows. Otherwise I'd rather just read manga.
