Puella Magi Masonic Madoka

Someone I know just pointed out the "fact" that Madoka has a bunch of Masonic symbolism in it.
I'm not really too invested in the whole /x/ side of things, but as far as I know there are aspects of the show that are wholeheartedly "Masonic".
These include: a checkered floor?, a contract, an initiation, ancient and arcane knowledge given after a series of rites, and a secret group which exists outside of normal society.
I never thought of the show in this context and now I think about it differently, please someone convince me this is a stupid interpretation.

how the fuck can the masons be a "secret group" if multiple movies and books have been written about them, hundreds of low effort conspiracy theory documentaries have been made about them, they have temples all over and put FREEMASON right on the doorbell

Yeah, super duper fucking secret

I LOVE SAKURA KYOUKO!

Good point, still I wonder why I was told there's so called mason symbolism in this show.
Are there freemasons in Japan?

What happened to kyubey?

because mason "symbolism" is fucking basic geometric shapes
contracts, initiation, "knowledge" after rites? Show me a religion that doesn't do this. Fuck, show me a fucking sports club that doesn't do this.

True. Still doesn't determine whether this show is influenced by freemasonry or not. Also, can someone explain the checkered floor thing to me please.

>"The mosaic pavement is an old symbol of the Order. It is met with in the earliest rituals of the last century. It is classed among the ornaments of the lodge along with the indented tessel and the blazing star and often represents the initial entrance into the Order. Its party-colored stones of black and white have been readily and appropriately interpreted as symbols of the evil and good of human life."
-From the Encyclopedia of Freemasonry
Madoka is all meaningless symbolism, just like Evangelion. Go back to your shonen shows and relax!

That apple seems familiar . . .

hmm, I guess I will give my thread one last bit of promotion and then if it dies it dies, still, I was intrigued by this possibility and hoped there were people on Zig Forums that would be willing to discuss it, I guess I was wrong.

Madoka is very cute and also cool and also OP you're seeing connections that aren't there

To be fair, I'm not the one seeing them, they were pointed out to me and now I cannot ignore them.
Surely "symbolism" can be a coincidence, but is it impossible to think that Shinbo and Shaft didn't include some symbols they knew could be interpreted in a certain specific way?

Attached: Sayaka_cake.gif (500x281, 1003.04K)

to be fair Urobuchi wrote Madoka not intending it to have parallels with Faust as it was something the animators picked up on and added symbolism for.

Based digits indicate based Shinbo is capable of injecting his own symbolism into an outside writer's work.

Take a walk outside. Look at some company logos. Go into cafes, restaurants and shops. You will find this "symbolism" everywhere because once again, it's basic geometric shapes.
It's the same retarded shit like with numerology. If I want to find the number 23 in something, I fucking will.

You know, If I had created a super secret cult, I would have used a circle as my super secret symbolism. Then we would now talk about dragon ball and the connections to my cult.

I don't think it's about a cult, I think it's about symbolism that, for whatever reason, resonates with the human brain and consciousness, whether it's because of pure aesthetics, or something else.
It's cute that you deny that symbolism is real, do you also not understand film theory, or the golden ratio?
Surely Jung and Freud are frauds as well.

I'm not denying symbolism is real. I'm saying looking for it desperately in everything and attributing it to some shadowy secret groups is fucking retarded. You opened this thread stammering something about muh masons. Don't get surprised that you get ridiculed for that shit outside of /x/ and Zig Forums.

So, the most generic shit ever that you could find in any series?

>Masonic
herb

Freud is one of the biggest idiots in today's history books and only popular because his "sexual repression" shit lent itself to corporate lobbies wanting to promote sexuality. Or even if he isn't a product of corporate propaganda, then he is/was just a product of the zeitgeist. Most of his ideas are complete bullshit and a person who believes his ideas fundamentally a waste of time to interact with.

Hardly looking for it desperately, as it's painted all over the show, but maybe you'll understand one day.
Also, as many have already pointed out, freemasonry is not that secret or shadowy, and their symbolism is very well established.
The ridicule is pointed squarely at anons who cannot accept that their anime does include just as much occult symbolism as the west.
and yet plenty of our culture comes from him, ever watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, or how about Seinfeld? Or maybe the films of Kubrick, or the writing of Thomas Pynchon, or J.D. Salinger. But surely Freud is a hack, what a joke you are to discount someone's influence based on your own misconception of their ideas.

my wife madoka is so cute!

Everyone knows that governments exists, yet internal mechanisms of government and intelligence are (top) secret.

I like how you changed your tune from
"uhh someome told me this" to "it's the truth! please believe me!"
why are conspiracy nuts always this dishonest?

Attached: 1545236542568.jpg (153x145, 7.05K)

>yet plenty of our culture comes from him,

Jung as a self-confirmed schizo, too...

Once something so obvious is pointed out to you, it can sometimes seem a truth kiddo.
Finding symbolism in a work of media is not a conspiracy, but thinking a work of media means nothing proves you lack thought.

I wonder what people who don't believe in psychoanalysis are like, perhaps very mentally unbalanced?

Attached: 1585804063445.jpg (305x315, 52.31K)

Or you just like lying through your teeth. It's cute how you tried starting of the thread with
>uhh guys is my anime actually influenced by DA MASONS?
>I don't believe in it of course, a friend told me
to
>ANIME IS MADE BY FUCKING LIZARD PEOPLE BECAUSE THERE WAS A CHECKERBOARD IN MADOKA
in under 30 posts

have fun circlejerking with the rest of the /x/ imbeciles, kiddo

Attached: Cross-Over.jpg (1800x2400, 1.92M)

>tohou calling people unbalanced

hmm, don't like Madoka, don't believe in conspiracies, and still don't understand the checkerboard shit outside of that one quote, try harder user.

Conspiracy’s evil influence is much closer than you think, and is always ready to deceive you!

>trying to discern symbolism = insane conspiracies
I hope this post is satire.
