main audience is either horny teenager or horny fujo

It's battle boys.

In Attack on Titan, Black Clover, Promised Neverland and Demon Slayer(just series that comes to my mind now, there are more for sure) have relevant female characters.
MHA just use the old tropes and makes female characters useless, hori tried to change this by making a super powerful female character, but failed (OP female =/= good female character)

So, the trend is changing and the reason why females are usually less important is that the audience of shonen manga is usually boys.

Most battle shounen are aimed at boys. Said boys tend to want to see the cool guy MC heroically beating up other guys. They usually aren’t too keen on seeing the cool guy MC beat up girls, and mangaka aren’t exactly eager to draw that either. Similarly the boys aren’t exactly eager to see the heroine get beat up in a fight. The girls in the audience don’t change this much. They tend to want to see the cool guy MC heroically beat up other guys, then tenderly fuck the heroine. The cool guy MC beating up girls, or the heroine getting beat up tends to be things they aren’t too keen on either.

The result is that mangaka tend to avoid giving fights to the female characters they create. Either by giving them a purely support skill set, or by making them only a supporting character.

Because they're written for young boys and old fujoshi, who don't care about girls. They exist to pop in every now and then and make MC-kun's relationship with Rival-kun seem less gay.

Young boys respond well to male characters and the older girls who also read are more interested in the male characters, fujoshi or not.

Females in shounen exist for eye candy. Boys want to read stories about boys. Girls also want to read stories about boys, so they can ship them together. Nobody cares if a girl has a good arc or an epic fight scene. Any time spend on the females is a distraction from the main story.

>SHONEN

>Nobody cares if a girl has a good arc or an epic fight scene
That was in the past, female characters in shonen are becoming more relevant and we'll developed

What, you mean like Promised Neverland? Fans hate Ema.

I mean like Noelle form Black Clover

little kids aren't interested in that kind of stuff

i don't understand why they don't write their characters exactly the same as they would a boy?

Because it's aimed at guys? Why do guys get the short stick in shoujo?

Because men and women are different. You're asking to write a male character but give him tits. Outside of really horny older dudes, nobody is interested in that.

Males and females are different. You can't write a boy as a girl. Also writing an op females character doesn't make that character automatically good

Who cares nobody wants to see women fight lol

There's a trick to it.

There are a tons of reasons. Author probably grew up reading other battle shounen were female characters only had minor roles, so they never had any good example of a well written one.
Also the shows usually undermine their own female characters. It's a lot harder for the audience to take a character seriously if she was introduced as little more than eyecandy or a love interest for the mc. Not that it can't be done, but it'd require a lot more effort and time than the author is willing to give the character to begin with.

Shonen:
>these female characters are cute! Why doesn't the author give them more attention!?
Harem:
>these female characters are cute! In fact on second thought, why do we even need the guy?
CGDCT:
>these female characters are cute!

And thus the cycle is complete.

But is there a cgdct with epic battles and superpowers?

Wait, people hate ema? I thought she was really well written.

I'm dumb, I should've thought of that. Guess I'll start watching some magical girl show.

There's a pic with a guy talking about this to his friend.

Is this a euphemism for a jap's tiny cock?

how could i have slept on the magical girl genre for so long

They're getting better and even the earlier generation, only naruto was particularly bad. Bleach wasn't any worse with the male characters than the female ones and the best east blue arc was focused on Nami.
