Your sacrifices, hardships, and deeds will be paid back and rewarded in the next life

Why aren't you Buddhist, Zig Forums?

It's almost the same with Christianity and like a godzillion other religions?

Because it is just a shitty scam to convince people to live according to social and cultural expectations promising them they'll get a better position in their next live, instead of trying to get the best out of the current one. Just like every other religion.

My religion is Isekaism.

yeah except that's not me because it doesn't have my memories and experiences

not to mention the whole point of buddhism is to get out of the cycle of reincarnation because life is suffering

religion in general sounds more like an argument against the doom of not knowing what happens after dying, that's what i think, not that it doesn't help people into doing righteous deeds though.
I believe that everyone should do whatever they want and to be as free as they desire but conflict will always arise when 2 or more parties want the same thing, they have the freedom to fight for it,come to an agreement or simply flee from it or maybe a 4th path that i'm not aware of it.

But the point of Buddhism isn't to be reborn to a "better" life, it's to break out of the cycle of suffering (that is living), it's unironically based, it's also not a religion, think about it more like a philosophy

I don't want a next life. This one already sucks.

Buddhism is a religion. The philosophy meme started in the late 19th century by Buddhist monks trying to sell their teaching on the west because they were worried about losing power for the westernization in Asia. Most of the westerners attending to the conferences were educated agnostics so the monks adapted

If it's true then it doesn't matter whether I believe it or not, it'll happen.

What's the point if I won't even be aware.

>will be paid back and rewarded in the next life
How do I know I don't deserve this in this life? For all I know I will be scammed again next life.

Fuck the next life, its Heaven or bust. Also, Buddhism is pretty inhuman in general.

>But the point of Buddhism isn't to be reborn to a "better" life, it's to break out of the cycle of suffering (that is living)
correct, the goal is to unironically kys for all eternity
> it's unironically based
arguable, personally i dont see why reincarnation would be inherently evil
>it's also not a religion
wrong
>think about it more like a philosophy
every major religion has some philosophy

Buddhism is pretty similar to Protestantism in many ways. Life is suffering, luck is predetermined. The difference is that in Buddhism its an endless cycle, while for christianity if you go to hell, you be there forever. Hell in Buddhism is like a prison sentence.

I don’t think you can just say you’re a Buddhist and that’s it. You need faith to really be a part of a religion otherwise you’re just playing the odds. I don’t have the kind of faith necessary to be a genuine member of that religion so I’m not going to pretend I do in the hopes whatever force in the universe that controls it is stupid enough to fall for pretend faith.

Because you're a shithead in this life which means you were a shithead in the last one too. When will you accept that you are the source of your own suffering and take steps to correct it?

the fourth path would be to destroy the thing so nobody ever longs for it again

>destroying the thing
alright i didn't expect that.

>People deserve the suffering they receive because if they suffer it must be because they were shitty in the last life
>People who are prosperous and well off deserve it because if they prosper it must be because they are being rewarded for their last life
This sounds a lot like those mega church scams in the US. What are they, prosperity gospel?

The flaw is you interpret happiness as material wealth and prosperity. The richest among us are full of such avarice and greed and inflict great suffering not only to themselves but to nearly all of us.

You are the source of your own suffering, only by learning to let go of everything material, and then everything spiritual can you obtain happiness.

It is possible to be happy and not desire anything, that's the point. It's why in most interpretations of the karmic cycle, the last step is a life spent as a monk.

Sure that works on an individual level but few religions exist solely on an individual level. There are whole societies with Buddhism as it’s primary religion. Do you think the people at the top of that society see themselves as not good? How easy would it be for a society to twist itself into an authoritarian system with something like that.
Spiritual enlightenment is all well and good but there’s more to religion than what happens inside the mind. Christianity at its core is about treating each other with compassion. Look how easily that was twisted.

Based and Christpilled.

>just be a good goy and slave for me, when you die you'll be reincarnated as something better
>source: Dude trust me.
Nah fuck that shit.

religion promotes good will in everyone, nothing wrong with that

Religion promotes people feeling like they're doing good things when they're actually doing really, really bad things.

So same thing with democracy, dictatorships, republics, Monarchs, etc. Malicious People can ruin anything for everyone.
Religion fosters goodwill by constant reminder (attending church, reading religious texts, asking advice from a religious leader). Adults know what's wrong and right. Religion when practiced correctly is supposed to incline a person to doing good by constant reminder.

>Religion when practiced correctly
Democracy, dictatorships, republics and monarchies, when practiced correctly, incline a person to doing good.

this also implies that everyone who has a shitty existence deserves it for reasons no one knows

In all honesty I prefer the idea of being reincarnated over and over again over being in a set afterlife forever, being immortal would be fucking miserable

Having a next life means your efforts failed. Exit from the cycle is the victory state.

>Buddhism
>not a religion
i love this meme
