Business is slowing down. We're (((essential))) so we've been working this entire time. A middle manager got let go but he was useless anyway so he won't be missed. So I'm in this bizarre Venn diagram of overlapping coverage where three separate organizations are paying me not to work. I've talked to all of them and they all confirmed I'm covered and my eligibility isn't affected by payments from the others. So I have been making significantly more money sitting at home than I was at work, and I did not have some shit McJob either

While those are soul-crushing places to run, they are actually uniquely excellent for networking. You're constantly in contact with people from all sorts of different businesses, and you never know how many customers walk in each day who could have an opportunity for you.

While you're trapped there, take advantage of those opportunities and you might just find you're talking with 10 different potential lifelines out of there a day.

That job sounds based. The coolest job I ever had was working special collections in a research library. I would love to do that for a living but the pay is shit. Also jealous if your neetbux but like I tell my friends milk that shit for all you can.

Generally by whatever runs out, and whatever my supplier decides I'm fucking worthy of receiving on a given truck day. Fun fact, when your supplier also supplies chains like Wegmans and Piggly Wiggly, it turns out that when push comes to shove the true independent grocer gets dicked out of literally fucking everything they genuinely need (a few months ago we were having trouble getting cream of chicken soup, it was constantly getting scratched from our orders, and during that time I noticed that the local fucking Wegmans was having a goddamn special on all the cream soups, highlighting the cream of chicken in particular).

I've certainly seen the worse side of people, that's for sure. When we're only able to get one flat of sanitary wipes a god damn month and we have to limit people to one canister per person, you'd think people would understand, right? Ha, nope, I've had people scream how unfair it is that they can't buy the entire goddamn flat because hurf durf muh freedoms.

However, this is also true. The one silver lining to my stupid fucking store is that I do get to talk to a lot of people about a lot of interesting opportunities. Most of them are garbage ("Hey buddy, wanna buy my fucking broken down pallets and sell them as firewood?") but every now and then we get some cool opportunities. Plus the local breweries try to schmooze up to us so we'll stock their beer, which is nice.

Well I would have gotten a full time job offer of it weren't for chinaflu, so it basically ruined my life.

In Canada, there is the Canada Emergency Response Benifit. If you have lost your job due to covid Trudeau's got you bro so you get 2000$ Canadian per month. This has been going on since April and now he just extended it till December guys wtf this shit will tank us so hard.

Work in social media and the workload has increased tenfold since COVID.

My 2 side hustles slowed down but picked up around the end of June. Using this time to build a nice website for my resellling business and some garage/warehouse space for my other business. Not looking to buy a building until shit hits rock bottom.

All in all things are about the same as they were before but making more commission and getting tons of networking done. Pretty comfy.
