The only ones holding XRP are traders holding bags. Why would a bank hold XRP as an investment? Banks use Ripple for the utility, and the token does nothing for them. Even if the banks were forced to use XRP to transact across Ripple, they are only "holding" as long as the transfer takes to complete. It's fiat on both ends of the transaction.
