Not saying it’s a bad thing but I always find it a bit interesting and odd on the sharp contrast between Aki’s initial personality and his current personality.

The other thing that I noticed is that they never brought up his infatuation for Makima again.

Makima visits the Aki household
She congratulates him, saying that her plan went well, Aki is getting friendlier with devils
But she also tells him that not participating in the gun devil plan makes no difference
Because the gun devil is hunting Denji
The only way to save his new family is to fight the gun devil
Chapter ends with Aki crying because he doesn't know what to do

I can legit buy into this. I always said that I don’t believe Gun Devil to be the actual big bad. The world wide destruction may have been caused by it but I’m really uncertain about it being behind the current events. The way the “Gun Devil” is operating now feels a lot more like the results of a human organization.
