Is seasonal consumerism culture killing anime ?

You gotta remember that Gurren Lagann is 13 years old. Not much to talk about.

We get gurren laggan and clannad threads 5-10 times a week. Everything to be said's been said. Fucking retard

>clannad
Well that anime sucked big time no wonder it gets those replies

cringe

How the fuck is Battle Royale obscure? It's probably Beat Takeshi's most known role in the west.

Trying again I see.

Nice but it's not about Gurren Lagann specifically, any attempt to discuss anything not currently airing ends up in failure, modern anime fans care more about keeping up with anime than actually enjoying anime and taking thier time to digest a show.

Clannad sucked and GL main selling point on Zig Forums was being baby's first anime for a generation.

Well.... everything to discuss about older things have been discussed before..... so? Do you wish to just rehash the same discussions ad nauseam?

Lotr and Star Wars have been discussed for decades.

That's because they're massive multimedia works with lots to talk about. So is Evangelion, for example. Which we get several threads a day for 25 years later. But TTGL and Clannad are self-contained and rather easier to understand in terms of themes and much less worldbuilding to peepeepoopoo over. This isn't hard to understand.

See that's the thing with long tail in media, new people will continue watching things from the past at a reduced rate while new shit gets a lot of attention. It's a fact of life and as time goes on less people will watch old series and when they do will only be the 'standout 10/10's' as 'alright 7/10' series from 20 yeats ago fall off a cliff into the eternal aether of obscurity.

you just suck at making threads

Ironic making this thread with an Eva picture.

horrible threads get 500+ replies all the time

and yet your threads are worse

most of my threads get a decent of replies

Battle Royale came out in 2000.

Zig Forums is the worst media board
your shitposts here won't change that

Checked.

I ain't OP if that's what you're trying to imply

That's why you get all those born in the wrong generation idiots too. If the only stuff from the past you experience is the cream of the crop then your perspective will be extremely warped when comparing that prior era to the current era.

I blame the newfags. Everything has gotten worse since Gen Z came of age.

There's a big problem with older/classic media, it's impossible to discuss because most of the people already saw/read/whatever it and discussed it ages ago
This is why it's impossible to discuss dadrock
This is why it's impossible to discuss classic literature
This is why it's impossible to discuss classic cinema
This is why it's impossible to discuss classic anime
The list can go on and on, and the more media there is, the less time to "live" it has, the less time in the spotlight it can get, and the harder it is to discuss it

what are you doing on Zig Forums, dad?

im quite sure a large majority of Zig Forums has not seen (or played) clannad

It's also because people take old stuff as the pinnacle of everything and don't bother actually trying to find shit that they like. In my experience this is the worst with music.

Zig Forums doesn't have a bunch of waifu threads

The actress worship threads are basically waifu threads.

at least old stuff has the advantage of being filtered through hindsight. new shit is 98% garbage and 1% filler.

>Zig Forums is the worst media board
It's the most consistently off topic that's for sure.

The new shit will get filtered and praised endlessly by people like you when you're 50.
