Ever notice how shonenfags have a lot in common with feminists?
>female character doesn't punch person or thing = bad character

it's not shonenfags it's landwhales that self insert as the flat bitchy 'heroine'

/thread

They self-insert to the bishonens.

those are just faggot normies.

Shonen is aimed at younger audiences. So a lot of shonen fandoms tend to either skew younger, or in a lot of cases, they were their first animes. This means that a lot of fans lack emotional maturity to not get into shitfits about every little thing. For female characters it's either going to be a shipping war, or just not liking female characters because 'waah vaginas'.

yikes

you're literally just describing the feminist normie subsect among the shonenfags; actual shonenfags don't care about that shit, they only care about power levels and fighting

>2010 Zig Forums- ORIHIME FANS ARE LANDWHALES
>2020 Zig Forums-RUKIA FANS ARE LANDWHALES

Explain this.

Retarded thread.

Fuck off, Sakurafag.

>hating femishits is Zig Forums
Fuck off, you retarded newfaggot.

But most of that applies to bulma and everybody loves her.

Talking about them on Zig Forums is Zig Forums. They don't belong here, newfag.

Pointing out shonenshitters are retarded normalfaggots isn't either.

Not really a shounen thing. Guys usually suck at writing good women characters.

Ideally every character in a story should serve a purpose more than just be a nice pair of tits. The complains are mostly about how female characters keep getting sidelined despite been one of the cast.

Ill shipperfags are landwhales you dummy.

female characters are good if I like them and bad if I don't like them

then why does FMA have shitty ones?

>Ever notice how shonenfags have a lot in common with feminists?

Writing a good female character usually involves the following:
>internal motivation & agency without compensating by just giving them superpowers
Characters like Sakura and Hinata are paint on the wall.

>genuine flaws
As in they actually have human flaws without needing to have le MC come in and fix her.
>backstory which shaped her into who she is
Now for shounenfags it's usually the girl decides to make a change by cutting off her hair but western literature, which is just as shit, usually tends to have the girl be infertile. Famous offenders: Black Widow and Robin Scherbatsky.

Fuck off already, retard.

>female character = bad character
There, now fuck off.

Touchy.

>shonen is literally all about fightining
>women don't fight
If the manga is about fighting, and females are basically tit-bearers who are useless except to cash in the bikini splash pages during summer, obviously they'll be boring characters. It's also regressive and pro-status quo, but it's main problem is that it is boring

It's realistic though, women can't fight for shit.

Hell no
Hinata has always been loved by fans, whether oriental or western... the shippers who were outraged after she won are the ones who keep criticizing her
Orihime on the other hand ... was never loved as much as Rukia

Feminist woman here. I genuinely liked and related to Hinata much more than I did Sakura, although the fact that she never seemed to win any fights or do anything important (besides get with Naruto) did kind of annoy me. It's not bad for a female character to be non-violent and polite, but when they're in a shounen manga that revolves around fighting, I like to see them win a couple of fights, especially since it was supposed to be her goal to become more confident and less of a jobber.

I didn't hate Orihime, but she was kind of bland and frustrating to watch, because she never really did anything significant besides getting kidnapped and healing that one guys arm. She had some character traits at the beginning that made her less boring, but Kishi seemed to forget about those as time went on. I have nothing against her being with Ichigo though, since I wasn't really shipping him with Rukia either.

And men can't shoot energy beams.

I can suspend my disbelief for magic shit. I can't suspend it for women being capable of fighting.
