Moon Phase was one of the first Japanese series I watched that I actually downloaded and watched in Japanese with subs rather than in English or Dutch on t.v..
I only much later realized how much better it was than most stuff, especially because Kouhei isn't a faceless, spineless self-insert but makes decisions, and they have a mutual relationship rather than pure one-sided romantic wish fulfillment.
The opening is so weird and so doesn't match the gothic tone of the series, though.

Also, I was so goddamn confused, when Haduki referred to Kouhei as “big brother”, when they first met, in the subs.
I thought for a long time that there was going to be some plot point in that they were siblings.
I'm pretty sure I finished this series without figuring out that it's just metaphorical in Japanese.
