Yeah its just nostalgia.Thats the answer you're looking for right?

I don’t know about superior, but I like both

Just nostalgia, check out how beautifully polished super is.

Toei's artists, including Yamamuro, were able to perfectly adapt Toriyama's art to animation. Super was terrible because of Yamamuro's plastic style until the very end. Shintani's style is great, but it's not as sharp as Toriyama. Toyotaro is like Toriyama except his art is a lot more dynamic, but that's a double edged sword because it's obvious to see that he still has a long way to go before he's ever as good as Toriyama. The best way to consume DB is the manga and the canon movies, unfortunately this means having to watch RoF, possibly the worst piece of DB animation. The anime is ok, and Toei's diversions in Super are hit or miss. We'll see who they go with once they start adapting the Moro arc. IMO, Super should have just been seasonal from the start, but Toei's greed knows no bounds.

the old style is the polished one.

Whether it's because of a lineart filter or because of less-polished inking during the drawing phase, I think the rough and sketch-like quality of the "old DBZ style" works better for two reasons:

1) The artists can spend less time on making the lineart smooth and get away with small imprecisions in sketch-like or disjointed lineart since thicker and textured lineart will mask these smaller errors. Ultimately this allows a lot more focus on drawing characters to model or adding more frames, as opposed to drawing frames with smoother lineart

2) the rough and textured lineart made the fighters look more grizzled.

Jesus wept

I love these kind of old styles, but let's be honest. There no good animators who will recreate this unless they add some filters like in case of Megalo Box and make it faux-old style.

I don't know how you can watch an episode by studio cockpit from the original series, look at super and even ask this question?

The Broly movie looked good but then again it was a different director and probably a higher budget

I want 21 to ram her tail up my ass.

Yes that's credited to Shintani.

le female buu is hungry xd

Remind me why people glorify this hack toriyama again? Garbage writer who can only produce waifubait

I liked how they made Cell during the flashbacks.

You can clearly pinpoint that Toriyama stopped giving a shit after 95

Well yea, that's when Z ended. Every Goku Toriyama has drawn since has just been pretty much a quick sketch.

super has SOULLESS art

Sorry, I meant 91. From the middle of the Cell saga everything felt rushed.

Super isn't polished, it's sterile at best.

Oh, yea you're right. The Buu arc has a lot more scribbles and less choreography than the arcs before it. One thing I rarely see people bring up is Toriyama's backgrounds. He was consistently good at drawing them in until the Buu arc, where there's more empty panels. Hell, he set Gotenks vs Super Buu in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where's there's nothing.

What do you mean by super's polished animation? Super had terrible animation up until about the Goku black story arc, after which it became about as much of a mixed bag as the old series with some very punctual episodes having better animation than DBZ. What you're probably talking about is the serie's art, to which I'd definitely agree the old series had better character design and although uneven, was able to to keep model consistency better than super. Super's absolutely horrendous color palette didn't make the show any favors either. Having said that, I want to create a whole football team with 21, god, she's so fucking hot

I thought that was DB Heroes for a moment
fuck me has it gotten this bad? That pic of 21 has me wishing for classic Z

My nigger.

Sex hair fluffy Toriyama girls are the best. Also human redhead 21>good 21>evil 21.

To be fair 21 was initially meant as a non-canon antagonist to justify the story of a fighting game so they didn't retread the Sagas again. She just happened to get extremely popular which led to her addition in SDBH and Legends.

Why would anyone get mad at her inclusion in gachashit kusoge? There's zero integrity to protect there.

Dunno, she was also added to DBZ Kakarot but I'm pretty sure all of that is non-canon as far as later stuff is gonna be concerned.
I like Super Dragon Ball Heroes and DB Legends though, Shallot's pretty alright too.

Those kind of gamea are really not for me, but you do yours, user.

I'd say try SDBH if you haven't already, it's got a demo and while gameplay's pretty simple and the online custom stages make it easy to powergrind if you want to it's a fairly loyal arcade port outside the story mode and has some good fanservice and a custom card maker. No microtransactions in it either, just DLC for the music from the anime to be usable.
