The reason she couldnt escape in the toilet was because her stand is electronic and was bound to the phone since it would otherwise just diffuse into the water around it. Yasuho wasn't drowning in the sense she was running out of air, but rather that she was being broke apart because Paisley Park was starting to break apart due to the water.

If Jobin broke the phone it would hurt Yasuho. That happened earlier with that one rock human. Though I don't know if it would be possible to kill her that way. I imagine it should be but I don't know how much damage you'd have to do to the phone.

I think that's purely because of being one of the two playable Jojolion character in EoH and also getting his own arc with Milagro Man. It's given people an inflated view of his importance.

He's definitely a joke character, and I'd say Daiya and Hato are to smaller extends. However, it's not too late for Joshu to make an impact in the final encounter. The arcs of Hato and Daiya were one-off appearances, I really can't see how they can do anything at this point.

You have to think about how Joshu has been treated compared to the other characters so far. He's introduced right in the beginning along with Josuke and Yasuho, both main characters. He's the only member of the Higashikata family who awakens his stand ability during the story. He gets tons of screentime and has an established relationship with every major character in the story besides the rock humans. And yeah, the fact that he's chosen to represent Jojolion as a whole alongside the main character in official media AND has his own arc unrelated to the rest of the story (no other character in Jojo can claim this) makes him seem pretty important.
Either Araki has plans for Joshu, Araki had plans for Joshu but dropped them, or Joshu is just Araki's most favorite and loved side character in the entire series.
