Monogatari

I feel like I got filtered by what I feel like is one of the most well-liked monogari sequel.
I don't like Zoku-Owari for a few reasons.
The ending feels like a rehash of Owari, just adding crab for satisfaction.
I feel nothing for most of the mirror characters, I dislike mirror-snake and hate mirror-math (ironic).
Weirdly enough it's the only part I did not like, including Hana and Nise. Are there parts you dislike even though they are popular ?

I'll admit it's not great, but it's a lil bonus more than a new season. also the scene with ougi makes the whole thing worth it

Yes but the 4 episodes leading to the crossdressing kino were very long and uneventful.

I'm not really fond of the storytelling regarding Kiss-shot and Araragi. I don't like how they ignore questions that should obviously be tackled as soon as possible like Kiss-shot being a threat to humans in Kizu or Araragi becoming less human with the usage of his powers during the series until the plot demands those things should be dealt with.
Until Owari came along to properly deal with Araragi becoming less and less of a human I found Kizu's ending absolutely bullshit. Kiss-shot gets fucked, but Araragi gets only upsides of a vampire. "But muh normal human bean". Fuck that, fuck Araragi and fuck Nisio.

This is accentuated by watching kizu right after Bake because you go from "fuck off portable food' to "let's have a bath" abruptly. Whereas watching after Owari, you have seen the development of the relationship between Shinobu and RRG in Kabuki and in Shinobu time / mail.

I think Owari has a more conclusive ending and I only really see Zoku as an add on that fleshes out a bit more of the "ougi" side of Araragi. It wasn't as good as many of the other arcs but I still found it enjoyable, particularly the scenes with Tooe and Ougi. Also I like the ending of Araragi leaping forward with Senjougahara contrasting to Senjougahara falling into his arms in Bake episode 1. I think it presents a nice parallel between how Araragi was at the start of the series vs the end

All these, except the Tohoe scenes, could have been done at the end of Owari without having to go to mirrorland.

I'm still surprised to hear people dislike Nise. It sets up and foreshadows a lot of things, in particular with Hachikuji who I'm most fond of. Not only is it important, it's full of fun or memorable moments.

For oncce OP likes Nise, let's celebrate.

I will on rewatch, but I'm not sure it'll change much other than the pacing.

To actually believe this is true, you need to:

Nekomonogatari felt pretty fucking pointless.

You’re talking about black I assume. It’s just the justification why Araragi did not end up with Hanekawa.

A whole lot of this. It's not a bad manga but it feels badly like an adaptation. The anime feels like the ultimate form.

It's a victory lap arc. It gives everyone who wasn't relevant in a while some screentime. And it keeps tying up the past stuff and setting up the future stuff like any other arc.
