When you list them all out like this, Part 5 had a pathetically low amount of fights for how big its cast was.

I actually agree with this 100%. Also, looking back on it, it's pretty insane how many shining moments Mista got compared to the others.
I'd place Kraftwerk a tier higher, and White Album a tier or two lower. Either way, Mista was best boy of Part 5
Fugo hardly even played a role in Part 5 so he doesn't count. Narancia played a substantial role through the part, but he didn't take much of the focus later on. Abacchio's Moody Blues wasn't suited for combat, so his absence from fights makes sense.
He is the MVP of part 5, and one of the best characters in the series.

Man in the Mirror is closer to Death 13 in that it involves taking someone into another dimension where they can't use their stand. But since Man in the Mirror has less limits, it means the user has to be more stupid and the fight is worse as a result.
It's easy to take for granted all the completely fucked reversals he pulls with his stand as just things that happen in jojo but I think the team saying "this guy's crazy" once in a while is meant to point you in the direction of thinking he's a cutthroat genius

Also, in retrospect, I suppose the "main character" is the group itself and not JUST Giorno. I think this is the first part I'm actually down to rewatch.
Man in the mirror was a group effort but Giorno tied it up with biology fuckery and was the brains of the fight. That and when he stole every car in the lot instead of just the one by turning them into frogs, and his solo fight against Babyface had him making flesh cubes to heal himself. As we know he isn't that present in part 5 but when he is I always thought his character comes through well enough

It is a shame that Spice Girl was only used for one occasion (two if you count that one time during Silver Chariot Requiem), but the Notrious BIG fight was still really good
