Is calling isekais cliched the new calling harems cliched? That is, is it now cliched to call isekais cliched? What genre is it now hip to write off as cliched?
Is calling isekais cliched the new calling harems cliched? That is, is it now cliched to call isekais cliched...
Otome game
Didn't My Sister My Writer finally kill that genre?
I have 0 idea why people think cliche are bad in the first place.
Every fantasy has ripped of Tolkin.
Every romance has ripped off Romeo and Juliet.
If you think about it, nothing is original. From SIFI to fantasy.
spot the isekaiturd consumer
Iseaki/Otome are worse than cliche, they're the sign of the hackiest, trend chasing writing filled with cookie cutter plots and characters. I don't understan how this shit is popular especially when so much of it is practically the same, seriously you can barely tell this shit apart from each other
Cliches and tropes aren't inherantly bad, but when your work is indistinguishable from 90% of your rivals you've got a problem
I don't even bother with any isekai that isn't Konosuba
Brother, isekai it's a brand product designed to appeal to mass consummerism: self insert hero sorrounded by girls. It's literally a storyboarded japrpg video game.
Someone wanted something and someone or something opposed him.
You are a reductionism binged faggot that wants to sound smart.
>Every romance has ripped off Romeo and Juliet.
Spoken like someone who never read Romeo and Juliet. It actually deviates from standard romance template.
Heard of Bakarina?
Rezero is the only other good one afaik.
What about Overlord?
It may be impossible to make a 100% original story with no tropes at all but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Most isekai feels like a collection of tropes with characters' names being the only original part.
Can you name some of the series you've read and identify what specifically is practically the same?
>Every fantasy has ripped of Tolkin.
Just because Tolkien created the archetypal fantasy setting doesn't mean there hasn't been a creatively made fantasy work since LotR was written.
The first two pics are both Konosuba
A genre is a group. A collective noun. It's not suppose to be original. It distinguish titles as being similar.
The only people who value "originality" are the maladjusted who have to cope with the fact that their rejection is due to a fundamental understanding of language.
>You are a reductionism binged faggot that wants to sound smart.
Go on then, Pop out a story with 100% original take that has not been done before.
>No good vs evil
>No revenge
>No love
>No laughter
>No horror
All been done before.
Be original for once eh?
Momento Chile conchetumare.
Wena culiaofag.
>Shits on the popular target of isekai
>Wont address that the moefags have been watching the same shit every season for the last 10 fucking years.
>Cute girl makes breakfast
>Cute girl runs to school
>Cute girl has club with other cute girls
We will talk about originality in isekai when the moefags stop liking this shit.
It's alright but it was one of the first shows I watched so I'm not confident enough to comment on its quality.
I do remember enjoying the power system and world building, but I think other elements were rather non-existent.
I might read the LNs someday.
It doesn't mean you can't flesh out an original tale.
This shit was discussed in the vanguards, 100 years ago mind you.
In fact it's the everlasting theme of modern western literature. How to retale a tale that has been told a 100 times? You would be surprised. But i will not do your home work.
>responds to being called a reductionist
>with an even more reductionist argument
In the fucking garbage you go, brainlet.
sharing a few similarities doesn't mean they can't be they can't have anything new or original.
What? All i asked was for you to be original. That really a bad thing? :)
What bothers me is how people seem to think that anime didn't use to be chliched 20-30 years ago and that it's just modern anime being lazy.
why not shit on both?
>reddit zero
>good
Shush we have film school critics in the thread waxing about how smart they are for dunking on cliches.
Whinging about cliches, is a cliche and needs to stop.
>No good vs evil
>No revenge
>No love
>No laughter
>No horror
You do know what a reductionist argument is, right?
>buzzword argument
You got pleb filtered by real character development.
God you could not sound more like a faggot if you tried.
>IT IS NOT MY JOB TO EDUCATE U
>You got pleb filtered by real character development.
Good joke, wrong crowd.
You'll get a real argument when you post some substantial criticism.
Remember
Tropes = bad
Is a sped argument. Please stop reading tvtropes and think that all trope use is bad you utter faggots.
This is no argument for RZ being good.
