She's dead, Jim.

Bumping for answers

I haven't watched the show yet but considering how it ended I highly doubt it. If you can, you might want to try the Vita game instead.

If there's a season 2 it'd have to be with totally different characters...

I hope not otherwise just a waste of time

A season 2 where they will finally switch from robots to humans?

Isla just got the same treatment her company gave to other robots/families. Why would you pity her any more than them (or pity her at all?)

I mean the company in rl would be a major disaster that even if you had the chance go bring back your loved ones you would still feel in pain knowing they would die.
I don't remember the details but why the hell don't they have some type of batteries that can recharge again? They sound like Apple.

The must be the explanation. You have entities which are fully equivalent to humans and have full human rights. Yet it's totally legal to apply a literal FORCED EUTHANASIA on them, and it is widespread without much resistance. What it the natural floowup (and the goal) of such a policy?
In short, Plastic Memories are an incredibly scary antiutopia.

S-she's dead, user... ;_;

Please don't say that.

Last bump for more information

No, it's a flop and you also have no premises for S2.

Is this the only anime that didn't milk a major death for drama?

The serie is a 6/10 but has such a mature and well made ending it adds 2-3 points by itself, first time im genuinly suprised that it wasn't melodramatic but instead handled well in an anime

If you just allow to kill your beloved with zero resistance, you deserve it. This girl is only one who deserves sympathy in the series (although her attempt was fairly silly too).

It literally did?

IIRC they basicly reminiscent about their time together and how happy he made her and they have to accept their situation

Compare that to most other anime where he would be screaming stuff like 'DON'T LEAVE ME" "I LOVE YOU' etc

Im super sensitive with stuff related to grief and losing loved ones (even cried during zombieland saga lol) but Plastic Memories ending managed to cheer me up in bittersweet way

There are perpetual PM threads on futaba, so it would probably be profitable just from fan interest.
But the same is true for other series like Saki.

So they spend their money making a medium-tier anime with a sad ending that could crush any living soul that watches it?
WTF?!

>Im super sensitive with stuff related to grief and losing loved ones (even cried during zombieland saga lol) but Plastic Memories ending managed to cheer me up in bittersweet way
If that's your attitude to your loved ones, then you totally deserve to watch them being killed. In a comfy way, with tasty cakes and free coffin, of course.

Isla lovers still use that scene as a central in the whole series.

>Compare that to most other anime where he would be screaming stuff like 'DON'T LEAVE ME" "I LOVE YOU' etc
Would be really inconsistent after all the work they did together.

which girl in plastic memories is the rachael equivalent?

How is all that shit with a ferris wheel "not melodramatic"? You can't get more melodramatic than that.

Had to rewatch something wholesome after this monstrosity. Blade Runner helped a bit.

One of the side girls, I think. For example that dollmaker servants.

It's a flop?

Not exactly a hyperpopular stuff.

Really? It's not popular? Is there proof?

It was claimed as a moe Blade Runner, but in fact it's a moe Ballad of Narayama. Or a moe Never Let Me Go.

it was her hand bros...it was her hand

no and thank god cuz this shit was terrible.

This is a good romantic scene (and a good couple), unlike the topic.
