I'm going to show the first episode of Eva to my therapist next week, how should I explain it to her?

Ask her to give you a handjob while you suckle her breasts and call her mommy

Thanks, I genuinely got a good chuckle out of that.

is she hot?

Nah, she's much older than me. Probably hasn't ever been exposed to anything anime related in her life, that's why I asked what I did.

I would try to approach it by speaking about Anno, and the decline of his mental state during the production of the show.
The reason being that I assume it would be familiar territory for her.
If she hasn't been exposed to anything anime related as you mentioned, you're much better off approaching it from this manner imo.
Also have this pic of Asuka I edited. Not sure what to do with it.

Don't

Devilman Crybaby is depressing

Evangelion: hold my beer

Sent from my Iphone

The first episode is just civic engineering porn and robot fights played straight
Just show her the last 20 minutes of End of Evangelion, or just the first 5 minutes

Yeah, great idea. Are there any good sources for research on that side of the production? Somehow I doubt the Eva Wiki will be much help. Also nice edit.

why are you paying someone a ton of money to watch evangelion

Why are you not paying someone a ton of money to watch Evangelion?

It might be smarter to just talk about the philosophy of Evangelion, and the characters of Shinji, Asuka, Rei, Misato, Ritsuko and Gendo and what each one struggled with.

I think she'd understand a lot better the post modernist philosophy and psychology rather than just a vague idea of watching one episode.

I see your point. My intent is for her to watch the whole show, so if she actually ends up wanting to get into it, I'll probably tell her to watch the filler episodes on her own while saving the more critical ones for our regular sessions so we can discuss them.

yeah, people don't talk about how judging by volume of scenes dedicated to it, Evangelion is really more about government bureaucracy, civic engineering, and chain of command management than it is about psychological drama or character study

sounds like a good deal to me

I would rather pay a hooker to watch it than a therapist because then more than my wallet would be getting fucked that night

Tell her to post a screenshot of EoE on Zig Forums along with "I don't get it"

you really wanna waste 20 minutes of your hour?

wiki.evageeks.org/Statements_by_Evangelion_Staff

There was a website I was on a few days ago full of evangelion staff quotes and interviews with anno and shit. Unfortunately I can't find it again so you'll have to settle for this.

why are you doing this?

lol found it

Thanks, I'll give all that a read.

>why are you doing this?
I figure if my therapist understands what kind of art I like, she'll probably understand me better. Plus, compulsively recommending stuff to people is kind of my thing.

Are you honestly that socially inept that you need to pay someone to pretend to be your friend?

No, I'm not. I didn't tell you why I sought therapy in the first place, but that's my business.

why the fuck would you do that

>1st episode
Nothing wild happens until like episode 16 or 18

Tell her you don't want to go into the robot and it's unfair and cruel the life that you live

>my therapist
You sound like a fucking wimp. Please kill yourself. We gotta cull the weak.

we werent joking

This is correct, but the first episode at least introduces a fair amount of the major conflict.

Don't make me get in the robot, guise :(

>forcing your therapist to watch a shitty japanese cartoon with you.

get some friends user Jesus Christ. shes only there because you pay her. she'll 100% forget about this show until your next session where you autistically bring it up again.

>people encouraging it and not seeing how awkward this would be.

please get help.

>Worrying about an interaction with a therapist being "awkward"
Sounds like you're insecure
>please get help
He's literally at a therapist

why the fuck are you going to a therapist you sad bastard, what a waste of money, make a friend or get a pet instead

Already told the other guy, that's my business.

>worrying about an interaction with a therapist being "awkward"

imagine not caring about trying to have a good relationship with your therapist.

>He's literally at a therapist

I was talking about the retards who are encouraging him when I said "get help"
