Not really. There is some interesting premise about time and shit. Have a more elaborate plot than fairy tail. Is not just let's sail on our space pirate ship to find the one mom.
It give some doctor who vibes here and there. especially in the latest chapters.

I wouldn't say it's really fucking good or super unique, but it's a fun enough ride that doesn't last all too long and actually sticks to it's landing.
It's decently consistent and unlike fairy tail people die when they are killed.

How did Mashima do it? He's not the most succesful mangaka for sure but he keeps getting money.

How different is it to Fairy Tail (I kinda liked Fairy Tail but I put it on hold a while ago because it started getting too repetitive).

Mashima is on record saying that fairy tail went on for way too long and that he was making it up on the spot, whereas EZ has an actual storyline planned out and a much tighter cast
It's been pretty good so far tbqh, I wasn't expecting much when I picked it up given the absolute dumpster fire that late ft was

See: Is overally better than FT. Nakama power is not abused to the extreme. The plot is kinda interesting. Characters are not too bad. Rebecca is not as useless as Lucy.
Is overally enjoyable. Still a manga made by the king of plot armor and random resurrections Hiro Mashima. But is not excessive and unpleasant like in fairy tail.
Plus, high quality Mashima babes.

The start was pretty "Fairy Tail"-like, but it develops into its own thing later on.
