overpowered MCs: literally fucking invincivle, no stakes or clear danger
lack of plot: things just happen, the plot isn't fluid and you can't see anything major going on
rushed ending: how can you properly end a series without any major plot? you can't
lack of worldbuilding: just an expo dump by the mayor

Shit 3dcg backgrounds.

it was rushed - even if it was just 16 episodes it could have been done better.

It couldn't live up to its potential because it was clearly a 24 episodes story squeezed into 12 through many compromises.
These points are mostly nonsense.
>overpowered MCs: literally fucking invincivle, no stakes or clear danger
Michiru is still weak even with her powers, especially at the beginning. Even later she can do nothing against 3 men with electric sticks, let alone against the mutated beastmen. Shirou is invincible, yes, but early on we see the story unfold through Michiru's eyes, and she has no idea about the extent of his powers, since he refuses to use them. And after they are revealed, he's confront with conflicts that he can't brute force his way through, like the effects of the Nervasyl syndrome and the stance everyone else takes against beastmen.
>lack of plot: things just happen, the plot isn't fluid and you can't see anything major going on
Major things are very clearly going on at all times, both on a character level and on a narrative level.
>rushed ending: how can you properly end a series without any major plot? you can't
It's rushed for sure, but has nothing to do with there being no plot.
>lack of worldbuilding: just an expo dump by the mayor
Most of the worldbuiding is delivered naturally, the major explaining things like beastmen breeding is the exception.
There were no 3D backgrounds.

>There were no 3D backgrounds.
All the fucking buildings were 3dcg garbage. Just look at this QUALITY. The character and background look like they aren't part of the same space. It's jarring and serves no narrative purpose. The 3dcg is just used because it's more convenient. Background is also way more detailed exacerbating the disparity.

The one thing they did do well though was never turning the camera which was probably why it fooled you. You need to lurk moar and watch more anime if you can't tell the difference though. Watch more older anime.

it's boring

All the backgronds are handdrawn, retard. It's the same company and art director as LWA, Kiznaiver and Eizouken.

>All the backgronds are handdrawn
Proof? The buildings don't looks hand drawn. They're only drawn during the animated segments.

>LWA
This had 3dcg buildings in places IIRC.

The 3dpd is right here in the credits.

>Proof?
Studio Bihou doesn't do CGI backgrounds.
>The buildings don't looks hand drawn.
Then you need a pair of functioning eyes.
LWA had CGI for the background animation, but that is handled by Trigger's animation department in BNA.

not him but see What's the 3dpd in the credits for then?

Studio Bihou is a Japanese animation studio, specializing in background animation & computer-generated imagery.
>computer-generated imagery.

>Then you need a pair of functioning eyes.
I think you do. Just look at this, the clouds and buildings are clearly in different styles.

The only 3D credit for the series is for
Cre-p Co., Ltd., and not related to backgrounds. Given that it's a single name, the contribution must have been very minor.
Their background art has been drawn digitally since the turn of the century, so it's technically computer generated, despite being drawn by hand and not 3D.
Are you trolling now? There is no difference in the way they are drawn, unless you believe straight lines must be 3D just because.

>despite being drawn by hand and not 3D
Proof please. Show the process if you're making this claim.

There's obvious 3d in the OP and it's in the exact style of the buildings.

None of those names look japanese. Was this made in china or korea or something?

Because it ended in the middle.

Because Trigger markets itself as this cool hardcore studio, but their stories are simplistic as fuck and feel like they were written for kids.
They really need to get better writers.

Go back to Konosuba, this is not for you

>but their stories are simplistic as fuck and feel like they were written for kids
Just like their lazy artstyles.

kek

>Proof please.
If you aren't familiar with their work with with Nomura Masanobu you can take a look at thier catalog and verify yourself by watching the show they made backgrounds for first hand.
>There's obvious 3d in the OP and it's in the exact style of the buildings.
This doesn't remotely look like the previous background. The CGI isn't composited with its background making it completely stick out, the color of the CGI is bold and solid as opposed to the tenuous tones of the buildings. Get better glasses please.

>no proof

I think this is why TTGL still works the best for me. Despite being mainly an action comedy it had enough serious undertones and scenes like political shit or deaths to make it good.
KlK had a bit of this too but was too slapsticky overall to ever take seriously and I find the conflict with Rossiu just way more engaging than rapey mommy problems, not to mention that the flash tier animation didn't help at all making things exciting. Not to say that KlK was bad, but it had clear shortcomings that killed a lot of potential it might have had otherwise.
Storywise it got even worse with other shows. LWA and BNA for example but especially Promare tried to bring in serious parts into the comedy again but they utterly failed for me since the conflicts in these were on the level of western children's cartoons and the villains were just derp.

It's Trigger

>death and "politics" make something mature
It doesn't feel like you have the maturity necessary for this argument. I'd suggest you to watch or rewatch FLCL, a show about this very topic that tackles its themes with more nuance and maturity than something like TTGL's Rossiu's arc despite not being serious at all and complete slapstick.

I didn't talk about mature you retard I talked about exciting because I simply find it more intersting than girls problems. And yeah, I won't get scared of characters dying and be on the edge of my seat if the show won't kill anybody on principle because it's a kids' show either, big surprise.

>it's not exciting if the characters don't die!
Game of Thrones and Attack on Titan should be right into your alley.

Me watching another series doesn't change the fact that BNA was mediocre.
