I watched through both the original and EVOL recently, and this is honestly the part that got me most (aside from the whole "Apollo was the dog the whole time" bit). The dude spends a majority of the show trying to fight fate, but then whoops, he was the fated lover the whole time anyway. And then the other guy just kind of gives up out of nowhere.
