The show heavily implies that Utena wasn’t enjoying it. The part where Akio is riding his car is representing the sexual experience (Akio speeds up even though there are signs on the highway saying “STOP”). So even if Utena agreed to do so in the beginning, she was trying to communicate that she doesn’t want to keep going but guess what? He kept going. Do you not remember the episode?

She doesn't desreve to be with Utena. She is manipulative and backstabbing. Utena should find herself someone who won't screw her over.

She is to Akio what Harley was to Joker - both victim and accomplice. Utena saved her but that should be enough. She shouldn't get her favourite girl on top of that after all her shit.

Who even actually thinks it is? The only people who might are the kind of people who only watched the film "because it's supposed to be deep and artsy".

The movie is in a lot of way better than the TV show.
The animation is better, it looks consistently great. It doesn't get bogged down in useless shit, so it can deliver a more consistent message and theme.
But because it is so much shorter compared to the show it can't develop its story, themes and characters as well, so the end result becomes so much less without what the show built up.
Which is why I think the movie works great as a companion piece to the show.

It’s true that the series has tons of interesting ideas and explores its themes in way more depth. That being said, I like the film more. It takes all my favourite things from the show and combines it with movie level polish. Its kind of the EoE to Utena TV, but in a weird reconstituted way.
