They're like musical notes: put odd combinations too close together and it sounds discordant but further apart can make it sound flavorful. I think with these two figures I would bookend them on a long shelf or space them out so they're complimentary. I wouldn't put them on the same detolf shelf. I have a couple of other smaller China dress figures they could be adjacent to quite well.
