In what way? People were already upset that the chopper/big mom moment in 981 was going to lead to the a friends or amnesia plot line, and it didn't. Big Mom wants to capture Luffy, and for the first time this arc, she's sober and she sees the Straw Hats, so she is characterisitcally going after them. In WCI she is shown to already be slow enough that she has to chase down the Straw Hats, in fact the only time she caught up to the SH's in WCI was when she could ride Zeus - which she doesn't have right now.
What about this is inconsistent or dissapointing?
