Hot take, but I feel like the fact they played it safe with Kilik is what made him great in it's own instance.

He wasn't a fucking tryhard like Killer Bee or a trylittle like Tousen, he flowed naturally in the story.
Although I still wished Okubo gave him and his weapons their own special chapter explaining their origin like every other student.

But you aren't to supposed to relate to anime characters, most of the stories in anime are about the special ones and their stories so it doesn't make sense. Also, Japanese make their anime for their own audience because they have no actual representation in western media.

I'm black as well and usually I consider those guys to be weebs who are obsessed with anime to the point they unironically look up to anime role models that they grew up with.

I find that stupid. You should be able to relate to a character based on there personality and back story. Not their fucking skin.
