Name some1 more based.... you cant

Was there ever a man more based?

Shogo did nothing wrong

>some1
>...
Holy fucking shit kill yourself faggot.

wow I cant believe it...
informal language? on the internet???

>tries to remove mankind from the shackles of the AI singularity
>is the villian

That wasn't his primary motivation at all

>kills an absolutely innocent person for no reason other than to prove something to himself
He was also a psychopath. Imagine being brain damaged enough to fight over two sides, both of which are sick in the head. OP is a 14 year old edgelord.

Watch the Extended Edition. Makishima is just a lonely NEET who got depressed and decided to irl shitpost. Cool, but not based. Kogami's tenacity and Akane's temperance are more admirable.

Shougo's an incredible martial artist though. I'd love a canon backstory.

That's effectively what the MC was fighting against though. They fought in favour of a computer that admitted it wanted to incorporate shogo's mind into itself
Wow 1 innocent person, compared to the millions oppressed by the sibyl system

>Wow 1 innocent person
That's one too many you edgelord.

There's no such thing as a human being who consents to rule by Sibyl, she was basically cattle.
>That's effectively what the MC was fighting against though. They fought in favour of a computer that admitted it wanted to incorporate shogo's mind into itself
So what? Shogo's primary motivation wasn't to destroy Sibyl, that's why everyone in these threads is a retard for suggesting he failed.

This faggot is actually closer to understanding the character.

>>Shougo's an incredible martial artist though. I'd love a canon backstory.
The backstory for pp is really retarded, apparently Makshima's boyfriend is the direct descendant of the royal Kim line from North Korea and the two of them train and are butt buddies together while hanging out in Japan somehow completely undetected while they go around kidnapping people and shit.

what do you mean it wasnt his primary motivation you retard he literally took a party of people into the HQ to destroy the sibyl system
He wouldve succeeded if it wasnt for the moralfags as well

>no good reason the MC sides with the psychopath computer over the revolutionary
But you just posted the good reason.

>where for no good reason the MC sides with the psychopath computer over the revolutionary
the MC was Kogami, he pulled the chadest move of the anime by simply not giving a fuck about his grand narrative and blowing his brain for killing his buddy.

Garbage ESL retard

Sell me on season 2 onwards. Is it worth?

It's not, the only enjoyment I got from it were the Zig Forums threads back when season 2 aired

Season 2 and the Movie were both trash, the OVAs and Season 3 redeemed the series.

I meant a childhood/adolescent arc. The content from the video games and bonus audio drama is interesting but more of what we see in the main series.

Kogami hypothesized that early trauma made Shougo asymptomatic. Whether that trauma was caused by or the agent of loneliness is what the backstory should examine. (I have a notion of Makishima as a teenage delinquent mindraping high school Sibylfolk.)

What would you say his primary motivation is?

HAHAHAHA youre a dreamer?
Are you American? 10s of 000s of innocents are always killed in war. Shogo was a predator, he's allowed to kill the odd human every now and again.

Sibyl is in effect no morally superior than the serial killer shogo. Why would you then side with sibyl?
Especially when we know that the sibyl system mostly targets chads and encourages extreme retardation like not running from killers

user if some fucker slit my best friends throat in front of me, I'm never going to let it slide.

Look buddy here's what we knew at the end of season 1:
>the sibyl system is not working in the people's interest, it's an insane mental collective that has become a machine god
>shogo wanted to stop smash the computer
>BASED moral fags defy their morals to kill shogo and maintain the mad computers power
Bearing that in mind, season 2 is about them putting down thugs for sibyl. personally I was insulted.

>What would you say his primary motivation is?
Shougo wants to learn about himself, likely because Sibyl can't/won't tell him who he is. That's his major motif, he keeps 'testing' people by putting them in unpredictable situations where the odds are against them, and he does the same thing to himself. He isn't willing to survive at all costs or even to play things safe, because taking down Sibyl is secondary to this pure pursuit of truth. Shougo says it himself when talking to the police chief Sibyl brain - he just wants to play the game as well as he can as long as he can, this is what he meant.

I want to bring up 2 more scenes. In the extended edition there's a scene where Shougo and Kougami are both reading the bible, it's a dream sequence, and Shougo has this realization as Kougami finishes reading "unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies it remains but a seed". There's also the scene at the end where he explains how everyone can be replaced. Shougo meant to die, Kougami is his replacement, in effect he was grooming him as his successor to carry on the mission against Sibyl, in short, he's a Christ figure.

Kogami MAY have had an honourable obligation to kill shogo
What that doesnt change is that sibyl, revealed as the the main villian of season 1, was not dealt with by kogami.
Shogo could have dealt with sibyl if only kogami waited a minute or 2. Instead BASED 9 year old girl Akane saved the day with her moral faggery, enslaving the world once again

See, when I hear MC of Psycho Pass I immediately think of Akane but you were referring to Kogami the entire time. Our entire conversation has been a misunderstanding.

IIRC, Makishima's motive is just loneliness. He doesn't exist in Sybil's system, meaning he also doesn't belong with society. This leads to him forming a grudge against the system and all its contemporaries. His contrarian thoughts and lifestyle stems from this, as does his lack of self-preservation. In the end, Shogo just wants connections, but as someone outside the Sybil system, this can only be formed by someone else who is not bound by the system.

Low IQ take, he would have joined Sibyl if this was the case. It's a mistake to take everything Kougami and his armchair psychologist senpai say as some kind of gospel, they completely fail to see the essence of what Shougo was doing.

>Shougo meant to die, Kougami is his replacement, in effect he was grooming him as his successor to carry on the mission against Sibyl, in short, he's a Christ figure.
..and then Urobuchi quit the project and we have 3 seasons, 30 movies, and nothing has happened.

>the villain literally kills god
bravo Urobutcher
why does this hack always insert neetzsche into everything

Which makes Akane's restraint when Makishima's knocked out so awesome. She believed in and followed justice to the point of self-death. That's who you want on the police force.

Nice post. I agree with the premises but have a different conclusion. Kogami isn't a replacement: he is the only singular person who could kill Shoguo, and that is part of the truth Makishima searched for. I agree with Kogami's analysis of Makishima: he's lonely. Underneath that truth is a simple desire for connection. Having someone kill you out of revenge is like baiting and wishing for bites: the goal is attention: Shougo's projects during the chess scene with Choe.

This, ultimately, is the fruition of Makishima's goal:
youtube.com/watch?v=G--Nb5WZEI8

Not simply to die, but to live on the heart of someone who kills him, and only someone who proved singularly strong enough to do so. Shougo played and played and competed and competed until that person (Kogami) finally showed up. Makishima searched for authenticity in death, not life. Jesus's quote is actually inverted: he dies as a man but lives on as an evil spirit in the heart of Kogami, who supports Sibyl as a haunted man who cursed himself through murderous revenge.

I was really refering to BOTH akane and kogami. But I really did not care for akane... she is basically a female schoolteacher, and her moral faggery damned the human race to a thousand years of slavery.
This is such a gay argument. It doesnt really matter what DROVE him to his actions. His actions speaker louder than words. By the end of season 1 he was about to coup the sibyl system, which would have succeeded

based and truthpilled

Why didn't he just move out from Japan and join some Gorilla Warfare with other psycho mercenaries. Instead he murdered innocent defenseless girls.

Japan is his home, and he already did that with Choe basically.

I'm glad this didn't follow the childish American power fantasy where the obvious psychopath is the "good hero". He was an outcast because he refused to fit in with the rest of the society. This is accetable only to a rebelling teenager.
